Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, one of the Big Nuz member consisting of a super talented trio namely, himself, Sbusiso The late “R Mashesha” Khoma and Mzi “Danger” Tshomela all three born and raised in Umlazi, Durban’s Southern townships. Deep is the foresight laced in their group name as the prefix “Big” could only mean destined for bigger things in life and “NUZ” taken from Umlazi’s vehicle registration plates, arguably the second biggest township in South Africa. It was in 2002 when they decided to officially form Big Nuz after realizing that their friendship was deeply rooted in music which at times left them wondering if they weren’t separated at birth.
Through out the years they have dominated the industry and are still regarded as legends in the game. Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo stared his own company called ‘West Ink Holdings’ where he signed Babes Wodumo and the rest is history.
