Any other Americans get absolutely flabbergasted at the amount the “super size” people are able to eat when in America it takes about 2/3 thats amount to maintain the same weight or more? It must be the chemicals or they must be adding sugar to absolutely everything cuz it does not add up at all. They could be exaggerating the amount for the show but I don’t think so.

Edit: I also haven’t figured in the fact that other countries are a lot more walkable than the one in North America especially the US

So, during her time in the clinic, Lauren had 1sl. Toast on the first morning, 1sl Toast in the first evening, 2 sl. Toast on the 2nd morning and a tiny portion of curry and rice in the evening. No sugary drinks, no sweets, no snacks. So where does the "Shelby eats 1000 kcal/day" come from?

what is so disturbing is how their families are keeping feeding them and let them continue with this horrible food... this is avoidable if they stopped giving this food. Why there is no wake up call, work, exercise, warnings, healthy food....

If none of you cared for the update or didnt know: Lauren has passed at 21, and was 19 in this video. Passing of heart failure. It is speculated her husband was a 'feeder' due to his lack of support and contiously making her large portions against her protests. May she rest easy and bless her daughter.

I also noticed people are happy with Shelby's behavior towards lauren, but as soon as lauren saw her "so skinny" 'so small' 'like a childs' meanwhile shelby had to tip toe around calling her big or large instead asking about her meals, its normalized that shame to skinny people is okay but to overweight people isnt. It goes both ways ↔️ people. Body shaming even 'kindly' isnt it 🤙🏼

I wonder whether they also offer some psychological support for the contestants? Because oftentimes there are underlying problems causing the eating disorder. The first thought with Shelby I had was some sort of post partum depression. I hope they get hollistic help.

As an American, I appreciate this show because they focus on the unhealthy side of both. I have been 200lbs and 90 lbs. I was not healthy at either size. At 200 lbs, i was desperate to lose weight. Sadly, I lost weight due to extreme stomach issues. My stomach is acting bad again, but this time I am at a healthy weight, so my doctor is happy.

Between the picky anorexics and the food tubes, there really is an appalling amount of food waste generated by this programme over the years.

It’s interesting that almost all the people on this show have strange table manners. It’s like they reject all the norms around eating, right down to refusing to hold their cutlery normally.

It's seems both of these women are suffering adverse reactions after having a baby. One over eating and one under eating. They're both young mums too. I'm pregnant at the moment and totally feel for them both. They actually have a lot in common and you can tell that by the way the respect each other and don't judge each other throughout the episode. Hope they're both much better now and enjoying life with their daughters!

Edit; I also want to point out how supportive the young partners of all 3 young women in this episode are. Wow, beautiful to see, especially the American couple.

I literally cant eat. Every spoonful feels like poison and i hate it. The smells of food are so good and i want to eat so bad but i cant. No doctor has been able to diagnose me and im tired of suffering. Im just at a loss at this point.

I cannot believe Betty Jo and her husband are on this show lmaooooo! For anyone who doesn't know, they were on My 600 Lb Life and are most famous for being convinced Betty Jo had cancer when she didn't and they yelled at the doctor to look at her tissues with a telescope lol. Yes, a telescope, not a microscope.

i wish they could continue this show today since eating disorders and disordered eating are even worse now

I come from the future. The diabetes estimate was low. In 2024 there are 5.6 million people with diabetes in the UK

America isn't the fattest nation, but I always giggle at how they throw shade at Americans every chance they get. They only send people to southern states in America and never Australia or Middle eastern countries😅
