mike Roberts caught a pair of " basins" right off the Essequibo 20 years ago and I use to have the old polaroids from Pete bandre.

we knew then...the obvious.

basins from the basin itself are basins and have the small head scales...lol..gods good!

so the ones from southern Suriname and Guyana do not have small head scales and yet striped and larger and definitely different... meaning they are a different subspecies.

these types are still being sent out of Suriname and Guyana and many going to Europe.. sad.

very few if any being taken from the basin anymore.

I love the video. I have a field caught emerald that is a little over 4 ft. My question is how often do you feed your emeralds. Mines is doing very well but I don’t want to over feed it. Right now I am feeding it every 10 days because I do not know the age of it. I am assuming that it is a sub adult any information on how I should be feeding it would be appropriate. As I said it is doing very well I had it for about seven weeks now.

Hey Jeff, can u give some tips or even make a video on switching an ATB or any aboreal from live to frozen/thawed, kinda struggling with an older ATB that wont eat from tongs, will only grab live prey from bottom of enclosure!
