Di forums were truly something special back in the day too. It was always so active and had such a good community on it, even for non members. I remember being like 15 or 16 and getting the Special Guest rank and feeling on top of the world lol.

I’ve come back to the game a few times since, and even with all of the updates and changes I still feel like those days were the best.

The closest was multi revs and controlling the caves. Gutted they took that away 😢

I never see anyone talk about them on vids or anything, it’s awesome to see them get some recognition. Take me back to the good ole days lol

It's unbelievable to me that someone was able to gather such a clear narrative about RS fueds from so long ago. Can't believe how many clips survived too.

Even though today's OSRS has like twice the content as 2006 did, nothing will ever match that era's wildy and sense of adventure. Reason being, the players had a much more fun mindset. Players actually had an idealistic appreciation for controlling territories, as if RS was some kind of role playing game and they're soldiers in war (wait what does mmoRPG stand for again? hmmm).

Today's players would never think it's worth it to go "own a territory" by standing out in the wild and waiting for contestors. After all, there's much faster ways to make money and get exp.

Another thing that helped this wildy drama exist was the lack of high level content in the game back then. Once you got barrows sets and completed the key quests, you pretty much beat the game. The reward was getting to have the most fun with other players by showing off your gear and PvP ability, whether it be in safe combat or the Wild. However, even if that lack of content were the case today, the Wildy couldn't be super fun because today's players lack the youthful idealism needed to make a game out of it. Everything needs a tangible reward nowadays, unless somebody is filming a challenge for content.

I ran an early 100+ pest control clan upon release and I have to say early large clans was hype as fk, my clan grew like crazy fast on forums and was number one for mini games 100+cmbt for about 6 months, then it branched off into a clan called rival clan which stayed around for like a decade into rs3.

I didn’t get to have big fights with me clan in the wilderness but we did castle wars and every other mini game so it was really badass and also the tzharr fight pits were 🔥

I haven't heard the name DI in ages. The nostalgia. The old fights in MB while I was in Infamous Pkers or Team Camden was insane.
