Hi Tessie. Hope all is good your way. Our snow is melting a bit with the warmer days. Calling for more snow squall tomorrow. Take care. Your friend from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
ОтветитьMy hubby and I do eat a lot of different meats. So I'm always on the lookout for markdowns, good sales etc. Our 2 freezers are full. I work at a convenience store/deli. And in sept. My boss gave me a third of a beef. Another co worker got a third, and my bosses dad got a third. That was so awesome as we couldn't afford beef. As the prices have gotten so ridiculous. It would have cost us 1800.00 if we had to buy it at the store. So great of him. He won an auction at our county fair from a 4H girl. He also won another auction for another beef for him. So now our small 8 cubic ft. Freezer is full of beef. And we had to put some in our big freezer to. I find great sales on meat quite often. But I only buy when it's a really good buy.
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьHi Tessie! You are amazing money saver. I try. Where I shop the butcher marks down the hamburger half off the day before the expiration date. So when I go shopping I make a note of that date and try to come back the day before. I am getting pretty good at it!
ОтветитьWe eat what is on sale lol! I live in a small town that has a Walmart and a Albertsons, that is all. I've had some bad experiences with Walmart meat so don't buy it much but Albertsons has good deals. They also will mark down their meat that is already on sale. I check the meat section whenever I go in there and buy what is 50% off. I have a freezer full of hamburger from doing that. Pork has never gotten as high as beef. I love pork chops or a pork roast. A really easy meal is a pork roast in the crock pot with a can of green enchillada sauce. Your very own pork verde!
ОтветитьHello! Tessie what brand vacuum sealer do you have?? Thinking I need it..!
ОтветитьI only buy meat that's on sale only. Chicken i normally boil until cooked and shredded.
ОтветитьThe rolls look amazing!! Yum
ОтветитьGood Morning Tessie, Sisters, Brothers, and Friends, Wish you all a wonderful blessed Wednesday filled with Gods Joy and Happiness :-) Remember to pray for one another and for all around the world :-) God Bless You ! Love you all :-) Keep Smiling be safe :-)
ОтветитьI spent the day in the kitchen today too. Christmas baking, long day. I took your advice and cleaned as I went and it was so much better.
Ответить🛎🍽♥♥♥
ОтветитьIt's always good to have an organized plan in place. You're all set for winter!
ОтветитьGood evening sweet friend 🎄
ОтветитьThat's an amazing deal, if I wasn't married I would probably never buy meat except for bologna occasionally because I love fried bologna sandwiches, and every once in awhile a blt, but I'm just not that big on meat, I don't have to have it for every meal, so I can really sympathize with families who are dealing with these costs right now, I'm praying that these costs come down soon because it's so hard for people to afford to live anymore, and I'm glad that you're out there showing people how they can save money on food❤😊
ОтветитьWe do our shopping on Saturdays unless they have a really good during a weekday. This week we got a bunch of meat that was marked down. I ended up getting 8 pounds of hamburger for $16! I was of course thrilled! Like you we do not use a lot of meat. I like buying the big pork butt roasts when they are on sale and breaking it down for like 4 meals! Thank you for sharing! keep warm and stay blessed!
ОтветитьI have a recipe for poultry, I usually use it on 4 Cornish hens, but any kind of poultry will do, you just melt a stick of butter, and stir in 2 tbsp of nutmeg, two tablespoons of rubbed, dried sage, 1 tbsp of salt, one teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 tsp of garlic powder and just coat the chicken with it, the basting liquid is the juice of one lemon and the juice of one orange, just pour it in the pan around the chicken , not sure the origin but because of the citrus, I'm guessing French, it's just an old family recipe that I use when I'm going to be roasting poultry, after the poultry is completely cooked, I pour the pan juices through a strainer and set them on the side, it can be used to make gravy, but we just pour it over our poultry, dip our bread in it, etc, it's so delicious, the recipe is good for about 4 lb of poultry, I'm all about those pan juices❤😊
ОтветитьI prefer meat sales to markdowns. Last time I bought marked down steaks they were slimy. Lucky to have a family owned mkt nearby..they do it all !!
ОтветитьGreat idea to mix things up with the seasoning.
ОтветитьI went to HEB today and got split chicken breast for .99 cents a pound. Limit 2 packages. Not sure yet how many pkg it will make after re pkg with vaccum sealer. Then i will boil bones very slow for long time for broth to can and the meat I debone will make more meals too. It has not been this cheap in a very long time. Enjoyed the video, always looking for new ideas, thank you.❤❤❤😊😊😊
ОтветитьExcellent doing this with your meat. I buy 1 steak for 2 people. It is a treat and then add more sides.
ОтветитьIt's actually cheaper to only eat meat. Or only animal, no plants. I've been doing it for ten months now. Changed my life and health.
ОтветитьLove Tessie Time!
ОтветитьI purchased a good saver and love it
ОтветитьI brown and drain ground beef and store in vacuum seal bags. So easy to grab a bag, heat and make taco's, sloppy joes, taco salad on taco tuesday.
ОтветитьThanks Tessie
ОтветитьThanks for showing us those yummy cinnamon rolls, Tessie. Reminds me of the ones I got to help my grandma make. Mmmmm!!
ОтветитьHello Tessie, nice video. Hope you are doing well ☺️
Have a great and blessed day 🙏
Like you we have cut back on meat. It's more economical and healthy. I love your idea of freezing the seasoning packet with your meat! Another enjoyable video.🙂❤
ОтветитьSo glad you were able to purchase and put away that meat. It's a good feeling to not have to worry about where your next meal is coming from. Vacuum Sealing it should keep it preserved for a good long while. Have a blessed day friend
ОтветитьWe have seen that with your mindful eating that you have lost weight. Have you noticed any weight changes in your hubby, too? I've noticed when I eat more mindful, hubby loses much faster than I do.
ОтветитьThat is some great deals on meat Tessie you did great. Thank you for sharing have a great day ❤️❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьYou look so cute in your flannel shirt. A style I can relate to.😃 I also use portions of a pound of meat for the 2 of us. I package my ground beef in patties. I can just grab a pattie or 2 for my dishes. I'll reshape into a loaf or add one to sauce...
Ответитьgood job
ОтветитьWe found a salvage grocery store we were like kids in a candy store. We scored 20 lbs of coffee beans for 35$ they were expired but they smelled amazing taste great!
ОтветитьQuality meat is essential for good health. I'd be giving up bottled water before meat. ESPECIALLY since you have a Berkey. I'm having a hard time with this.
ОтветитьYour sticky rolls made my mouth water!! 😋
ОтветитьIt is so much easier to freeze with the marinades. Thank you for sharing!
ОтветитьDo u recommend your your food sealer & what kind is it?
ОтветитьGreat idea preparing ahead of time. Comforting feeling. Have a great evening everyone.
Ответить3 months of meat is great Tessie.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьI stumbled upon some chicken breast the other day that was marked down to $1.25/lb. Needless to say, I stocked up! I like rotisserie chickens these days for affordable meat - if you look for a juicy fat one at Sam's Club, not overly browned, you will easily get 32 oz of cooked meat off of one $5 chicken. I usually split that up 3 ways to make 3 meals and just freeze the shredded meat. I use it with seasoning for chicken tacos, or for salads or adding to things like chicken and dumplings and soup, and make bone broth out of the carcass.
Ответить❤ I love your channel. Long time subscriber here. I live a lot like you and wouldn't change it for anything. Even though I have always been frugal I have learned so much more from you. God bless❤
ОтветитьYou have some really good ideas here!!
ОтветитьPersonally, my freezer is full, so I am going through and canning everything possible. My husband brought home another 70 pounds of chicken thighs, thanks be to the Lord, and I will be canning those this week. I plan to make a lot of chicken soup with them. This amount of chicken is enough for us to eat for two to three months.
Tomorrow he is bringing home 20-40 pounds of chicken nuggets which will probably be handed out to the grandbabies. We do not eat anything breaded.
I prefer canning just because it's heat and eat. You do most of the work ahead of time so busy dinners are done in 15 minutes. Also it costs nothing to have things sitting on a shelf, but in the freezer it costs electric.
We need meat , very important
ОтветитьYes, we have learned we have to use the oldest foods first, flour into frozen biscuits, dinner rolls, cookie dough even pizza crust to bake when needed. You can always send some cookie dough home with your grown kids.
ОтветитьI am a widow, one person, eating I freeze my flower my cornmeal am I yeast
ОтветитьBrown Sugar can be made with regular sugar and Sorgum Molassas!!!
ОтветитьI have run into outdated Flour in my storage... I mixed it up made a dough..baked in the oven..crumbled it up and fed my chickens with it!!
ОтветитьGood evening Tessie. Did I understand you to say you don’t drink with water from your Berkey? We use ours all the time so we don’t get the chemicals from our Tap water. You did a great job on making use of the meat, and creating for your upcoming months of meals. The cinammon buns look so good. We will all be over for coffee and cinammon rolls. Hugs from Alaska
