Its not wasted, in the beginning of every kvk you can sell those and collect everything which will help expertise any legendary or epic commanders not expertised already, you can also buy tomes of knowledge and upgrade, you can but arrows if resistance and you can get tons of resources

Just calculate the probability of how many gold keys you need to collect to open them at once and then let us know. That is more relastic for us f2p. For example to expertise Martel

Perspective here... He is a whale. Regular, low spending players will not max gold keys commander before like 4 to 5 years. Started playing in March 2018, now May 2024 and since January I have FINALLY maxed Mehmed, ElCid, Freddy using only gold keys... So if I had waited for Cao Cao and Charles Martel I wouldn't have been able to use them for a long time. and you can use those sculptures when KVK comes around for the fortress rebuild.

This advice really only applies to cashers in RoK. If you are an F2P player, it is going to take you an extremely long time to get any gold commander maxed, most players never make it happen

They aren’t completely wasted, there are event during or near kvk that gives you rewards for extra commander heads

Can’t you trade it in the past glory event so that way you can get universal legendary commander sculptures from the buy area after receiving enough currency

Very happy I never touched a legendary commanders extra heads in the pre kvk gold head exchange! Now I get two free commanders and don’t lose the ones I exchanged for.
