dirty work probably the worst one hit to the body excluded
ОтветитьBlack and Blue was my least favorite, but i really like " Fool To Cry "! But i love UNDERCOVER OF THE NIGHT! It's in my top 5!
ОтветитьToo Much Blood holds an awesome place in the Stone's timeline, as could double as a soundtrack or be looped into a night club. Ron follows the rolling rhythm perfectly; Keith charges up his reggae clicks like the latest car model. I was 16 at the Time, the whole IP hit home. "I wanna dance, I wanna Sing" takes us into the excitement of expressing one's self and caps it off by exploding into "I wanna bust up everything". The cumulative effect is affectations spinning out of control resulting in too much blood, an overdose? Or just a judgement on limits. At the time the video director had Mick and Keith play up their own overflowing tension on film. Keith excelled in his role as the villain and this video played the bad boy card for a new generation with its own new vices. Mick's Voice Over echoes Blade Runner's controversial Voice Over from a year earlier. So the voice over, straight leads, chorus, and even horns all have this song going long over a killer jungle beat through a transitional time. The song and video serve as a parody and a tribute to the Horror Movies of the day, but Mick sees through it all as he says " and have some fun." A favorite on a fun, but lessor known lp.
ОтветитьWorst Rolling Stones Album: Dirty Work (1986) with Undercover (1983) really close. And that wasn't "Paula Abdul animation". It was Ralph Bakshi animation.
ОтветитьYou and I are the same age, and our Stones journey is very similar, although I largely ignored everything after 1981. Food for thought: the CD killed the Stones (and lots of other bands). Having to fill 65 minutes on a CD instead of 40 on an LP meant bands released a lot of crap to fill space and justify the cost of a CD vs an LP. Streaming and the ability to download songs one at a time isn’t helping the quality of music either.
ОтветитьProfanity 1964 If you see my little red rooster please drive him home ( meaning his manhood ) 1968 - Parachute women land on me tonight 😁
ОтветитьDirty Work.
ОтветитьEvery thing AFTER Tattoo You. Tattoo You should have been the Stones Abbey Road.
Ответить'Bridges to Babylon' is the worst album on that timeline.
ОтветитьThey have such a body of work it’s pretty incredible. Different eras, different genres. I would never put this band down. They can’t all be classics (hits) and to be fair some of my favourites songs in general aren’t deemed as classics anyway! 🤷♂️
ОтветитьEmotional rescue was a disco flavored bomb,1980 release.
ОтветитьMick Jagger/John Fitzgerald Kennedy, both London playboys.
ОтветитьDirty work. One that isn't in the bunch is emotional rescue. Other than the title track and she's so cold no much that great. Tried to make it a dance album. This is the follow up to some girls. And it was followed by tattoo you.
ОтветитьAgree on Dirty Work but love that single “One Hit to the Body”….
ОтветитьI think some of their early albums were uninspiring. Mostly cover songs and straight blues. Their first truly great album was beggars banquet. Yes they all had some good songs on them. But nothing that you need to have. Compilations cover it.
ОтветитьI dont hate any of their albums but i tend to listen to their classic than their post tattoo you albums.
ОтветитьEverything after some girls
ОтветитьI became a huge Stones fan in 1983 after someone recommended I get Hot Rocks. Little did I know their best was all behind them
ОтветитьUndercover never grabbed me, Dirty Works a bit rough but neither entirely without merit
ОтветитьAfter Bill Wyman left I lost interest in the Stones, him and Charlie were the magic of their sound.
ОтветитьPs Voodoo Lounge, cover is shocking, visual aesthetics not good artwork wise on many occasions considering how cool they have often looked.
ОтветитьShe comes in colors, and boy does it stain the sheets.
ОтветитьDoom And Gloom is one of my favorites. Too bad it isn’t anchored to a “real” album. It deserves better.
ОтветитьIts not a nostalgia / oldies thing, because one of my top 10 faves is "Dont Stop" from 2002. I love that song as much as "Have You Seen Your Mother".. Their more recent albums have some great tracks, maybe just not overall as good as Exile or whatever
ОтветитьBlack And Blue
Undercover
Bridges to Babylon
Dirty Work would be my worst Rolling Stones Album
ОтветитьSteel Wheels was pretty good. Dirty Work and Undercover are unlistenable all the way through. IMO.
ОтветитьDirty work .Is crap .
ОтветитьDirty work the worst
Blue and Lonesome with Micks harp wailing l think is their best since Tatoo You
Steel Wheels, Voodoo Lounge, and Undercover were AWESOME!
ОтветитьEmotional Rescue.
ОтветитьSteel Wheels is unlistenable.
ОтветитьCD kill RnR...because every artist must have 70 min of music minum. On LP you have 45min or 9-10songs....on CD you must have 15-16 songs...nobody even on BEST OFF have 15-16 gooood songs(Stones and Beatles) maybe....so when you ever listen CD with all good songs???...never.Its inposible mission to have 15-16 good songs in one album.WHITE ALBUM is shit because too many songs(Revolution 9???).....if be regular LP its be awesome......its my opinion....Sorry for my Tarzan english.Worst Stones album?!? Undercover or Dirty Work....too 80-s.Steel wheels is bring it back to life
ОтветитьI don’t understand why the list starts where it starts. Surely, all studio albums should be submitted for a vote.
ОтветитьI bet there's tons of unreleased stuff of the Hackney album with Charlie on drums. Just thinking of the ongoing rumours of a new studio album for years and then it comes with Charlie playing just three songs?
Ответитьanything WITHOUT mick taylor !!
ОтветитьDirty Work was by far their worst
ОтветитьBeggers Banquet is a good lp
ОтветитьI love Undercover. To me, it's the last time they were trying to do things new and interesting.
ОтветитьGenuinely fantastic and balanced criticisms. Wish more folks approached a band's catalogue in this methodical of a manner. That said, I have a soft spot in my heart for Undercover. And I would put Their Satanic Majesties Request just behind Dirty Work at the bottom end of their catalogue. :)
ОтветитьDirty work should have included Strictly Memphis
ОтветитьJust shut up.
ОтветитьI won't be one with Mick Taylor on it.
ОтветитьDirty Work is the usual suspect, but the tranche of awful and unnecessary live albums get my vote. Their album covers since Some Girls are dire.
ОтветитьFrom those, my choice would be A Bigger Bang. It's just completely unremarkable. Production is not great, no hits, goofy cover.
ОтветитьDirty Work as the album was everything wrong with music in the 80s
ОтветитьI stopped reading Rolling Stone magazine many, many, many, many years ago. Mainly, because their reviews were SHIT. They rated NOTHING as being good. RS is only good for birdcage liner.
Ответитьrobert i agree but i think hackney diamonds is compressed. but i thinnk. tatoo you is thre best in years in sound and music good video
ОтветитьUndercover from 1983....very boring except for the Title track....nothing at all stood out....
Ответить
