As Hungarian, spoken with many nationals across my life. I see that Hungary are forced by 2 million voters who aren't live, work, taxing here (they are easily driven by state and other private media outlets). That 50+% based on tricks, insults, blackmail, betrayal and bribe. A lot of Hungarians fled and turned impoverished in the last decade, but the governance decides who are its peers. The entire state debt was quadrupled since 2010. In support of the state. Taken loans from eastern banks, which is now impossible to pay back. China, Russia and other influential countries taken over and confiscated the (state sponsored) energy industries, locomotive industry, industrial assets. Nearly nobody is untouched by the turmoil what was made by this government... Other 7.5 million people just suffer from these decadent weirdos. Even the Forint is now a big drop! Nothing more!

In Hungary Fidesz with Orban are rulling from 2010, in Slovakia there are only 5,5 million people, in France even if Marie Le Pen won elections she couldn't rule afterwards, in Italy Meloni is not anti EU even and since in charge more pragmatic than far right. An in EU? From 12% to 25% after all of those crisis with immigration and economic? From no power to no power? Wow. What about Poland where after 8 years of right wing PiS won center-left coalition? What about non EU, but important European UK where labour party won? What about Spain? There is no one direction where Europe and EU is going. For those that are not Hungarian:

Orban used to be a pro-Westerner young charismatic leader who called the Soviet army occupiers, and publicly asked them to leave.

Later on he lost popularity to the Socialists, who ordered the police to remove name and rank tags, wear masks, and beat up protesters who infiltrated to Orban's peaceful rally, so police used tear gas and police horse charge on Orban's peaceful rally. He asked people to help him build a new system, that will never let police use brute force on civilians, and that he pays off foreign debt to reduce foreign dependency, and that he reduces taxes.

In 2012 a new constitution came to effect, made by Orban's party, with no opposition votes to accept it, and no census about it. He used his Parliamentary supermajority in a way that basically his political party decided for the constitution for the whole country.

He created the NER (system of national cooperation), where he started to support a group of Hungarian businessmen to create a new Hungarian business elite. He simplified taxation, and small businesses had as low as even 5 percent taxes, so it was fine, and most people were okay with him channeling EU funds to a new national oligarch group.

But when covid came, he raised those small business taxes from about 5 percent to 36 percent, effectively destroying small businesses mid-year. He raised taxes, destroyed businesses with covid regulations (without subsidies), while giving subsidies to his friends' specific businesses. Effectively sabotaging the whole economy and bailing out his friends, using EU funds, so that pro-free-market and possibly pro-European intellectuals, small business owners, and middle class fled the country.

He shows himself similar to Trump, but he is for planned economy hardcore. To back it up, I say that there is ZERO parties or members of the Parlament that openly support free market economy, whereas in some surveys more than HALF of Hungarians support the abolition of state healthcare and want to keep their taxes, and also more than HALF supports gun rights.

For the latter, Orban seems to be really scared. So even though he is using emergency legislation since 2015(!) and there is a war in a neighbouring country, his solution was "extra profit tax" on major companies, and "defence tax" on groceries(!). Owning a gun is punished by a prison sentence, and there are no free shooting ranges operated by millitary for civilians. And as I said, more than half of the population is pro-gun.

Thankfully, in Romania the first vote was cancelled bc documents were declassified exposing how that independent idiot (Georgescu) has paid a lot of money for his TikTok propaganda (85000+ account each with 25000 videos) manipulating young people (that only use TikTok to get their info, as you can also observe in this cursed comment section) in mass. He won't be allowed at the next votes so thankfully we got rid of that pro-russian.
