Very 1970’s American ingenuity blossomed…
ОтветитьSUPER SKETCH ROLL OVER TO EASY BE CAREFUL
ОтветитьI have a Tri sport a lot like that one but I think mine is maybe older? Mine has a single cylinder Husqvarna engine.
ОтветитьYou can have the gas tank plastic welded. I’m not kidding it is possible.
ОтветитьYou got me thinking about mine now. I will get it out in the Spring and see if I can get it going. Like yours mine has been sitting for years. It has in fact been sitting sense 1977. Lol.
ОтветитьThat little line hookup is not for oil injection it is for a primer.
ОтветитьPut a gear box on it ./shifter
ОтветитьMy parents (I'm 65 so grew up in the 70's) camped with a bunch of families that all had small dirt bikes and 3 wheelers of all kinds. One of those Tri-Sports (no body work like that one) was the fastest thing by far. 28? ish hp.
ОтветитьI had one
ОтветитьSomone put an engine on a big wheel. Awsome
ОтветитьAren't they called "mud bugs"?
ОтветитьThat's freakin sweet dude I'd love to have something like that the Bebop around my little town in God I terrorize my town with that thing
ОтветитьSee that thing's a collector's item if there wasn't too many made how many do you think that there's still running on the road how many of them do you think were parted out yeah I have a feeling that thing's going to be a gem because there will be a motorcycle museum out there that will look at this and you know you may never know they may want that thing pretty damn bad especially if you restore it
ОтветитьMan you got a diamond in the rough sitting right there that thing is worth $1,000 and then some yeah I have a feeling if they've only made a few of them you may have a museum come talk to you about that because yeah that thing's just f**** badass
Ответитьby todays standards, its a death trap. What fun we had and lived.
ОтветитьThem things gave out there fair share of pain back in the day!
ОтветитьGoogle The Banana splits.
ОтветитьThey called those dune cycles here in Oregon when I was a kid. You could rent them just down the road here at spring lake.
ОтветитьI have a metal sign from a shop that sold these, the sign is about six by four feet, it's been In the shed at my parents house for about fifty years and it's still in good condition, nice paint and not rusted or bent, 😁
Ответить👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼
ОтветитьUPGRADE 160BHP SOWMOBILE ENGINE THAT WOULD MOVE
ОтветитьPLEAE SAY "TURN SIGNALS" NOT [BLINKERS] SOUNDS UNEDUCATED TO MECHANICAL THINGS!
ОтветитьHad one for a short minute. Never got it running I had no place to work on it at the time
ОтветитьDude that pos is not cool at all.
ОтветитьMy buddy's dad had to rupps just like these in the mid 90s what a blast for me and my buddy who had just gotten his driver's license
ОтветитьKawasaki on Lorain road in Cleveland sold them in the 70s mopeds too
ОтветитьI'M 68years old I AND a 340 street legal tri sportI put 14" Ford rims on the back it was a runner! !!!!
ОтветитьI have a 440 Kohler out of one of these complete, runs good...
ОтветитьDon’t you need a battery to get a spark?
ОтветитьI used to ride these in the 70’s when I was 10 or 11? Back then, you could ride anything, they were so much fun!
ОтветитьWhen I was a kid in Oregon these were popular at the coastal tourist traps . I always wanted to ride one .
ОтветитьEarly 70's my teen brother one yr older than me. Bought an 8 hp trisport when dad took us to get it dealer talked my dad into a test ride on the street legal one. I think dealer said it was 40 hp. Dad got on it in back alley behind dealership and immediately did a wheely. Unintentional but that thing was fast dad went around the block and declined. Brother did get 8 hp and we had a mud bug. Oh the good old days when a kid could ride the neighborhood on his three wheeler with the daisy red rider at the ready.
Ответитьbe careful with the old gas tank !! use it to make a mould for a new fibreglass tank ?? EH ?
ОтветитьI have this same one, I never knew it had a engine cover. I put a 640 skidoo in it.
ОтветитьKohler Motors Are TOUGH ❤
ОтветитьOne of those was my introduction to offroad, been hooked ever since.
ОтветитьI had something similar to this with a 340 Kohler with twin expansion chambers that thing was a rocket ship important thing is to get your clutches set up correctly I would Polaris clutches if you could find them I'm not kidding you will go close to 100 miles an hour if you got a motor putting out at least 80 horse it will flat track like nobody's business they have cool differential rear ends in them
ОтветитьBlinkers are on your left the kill switch will be on the right
ОтветитьNice little ride I wonder if a Polaris 440 indy lite engine would fit that engine bay
ОтветитьThem carbs suck I put a modern one on it I can’t remember what it was
ОтветитьThe fuel ump is on the bottom of the carb
ОтветитьBetter put a roll bar on that
ОтветитьI was a dunecycle guy,my uncle sold them at his H-D dealership in Ytown
ОтветитьI would set that up like a three wheeled motorcycle just keep the body style
ОтветитьI'm going to show my age in a minute.
But I think the Banana splits had one of these from the old show with the same name.
I rode one as a young teenager. Beyond fun. Ran like a 410 sprint car around a dirt track.
ОтветитьHad a few w 440 engines mounted 😂 too fast and dangerous for a few kids lol
ОтветитьReally unusual carb…wonder if there is a modern replacement
ОтветитьThat can't be the original hole the pull start went through.
ОтветитьCool machine and the leg got a break on this one Joe thanks 😊
