Several French prisons were attacked between late night on April 14 and early morning of the following day, with attackers setting fire to vehicles in the parking lot and opening fire outside the prisons. According to foreign media reports, the incident involved at least seven prisons across France, including Toulon, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Valence, Nîmes in the south, and Villepinte and Nanterre in the Paris area.
