I just want to put this here, don’t trust anyone who says modern oled’s wont have burn in. They will, they just happen to be less than a year old and don’t have that opportunity unless being heavily used for gaming (stagnant things like a minimap will 100% cause burn in).

Next, remember due to OLED nature, it will also dim and lose saturation over time even if you don’t use it. Organic things break down, and there isn’t much you can do about it.

If you want to have an OLED for all that it offers above specifically nano led tech, be prepared to buy a new one every 3-5 years with very little resale value, or your tv will be worse than almost all LED TV’s, not even nano ones.

That’s the OLED tax, being replaced.

As someone who only plays games, and a lot of different games, the brightness on the C3 is abysmal. Its so bad it honestly looks like the panel is broken.

Unless you are using the tv for movies and then switching to play Cyberpunk in HDR and making sure the game is always at night then the C3 is basically pointless.

I got an LG CX OLED 4 years ago, and ever since, every LED TV now looks like crap. I will never go back. I can't unsee the local dimming on LEDs, and no matter how bright or saturated LEDs get, I crave the inky blacks and accurate colours of my OLED. Admittedly, up until the last two years, OLEDs simply didn't hold up in bright rooms because of their brightness capabilities. However, the new MLA panel OLEDs from LG and the QD OLEDS from Samsung and Sony have literally done away with that issue all together. There is no longer any reason to buy an LED tv for me again now they get as bright as they do. Anyone saying OLED was just hype honestly just doesn't know what they are talking about. They are two different technologies for two different applications...until now. Seriously, if you haven't seen the new G3 from LG and the Sony A95L, do yourself a favor and go see. They are incredible.

Hi KG, would you mind to add in a set of scenes for your upcoming oled vs mini led?
1) White background with different black font, grey font, static with various size for 3 sec.
2) Put a few lines of color bar vertically from left to right. Will there be any color/brightness change on the fonts?
3) Black background with different white font, grey font.
4) Put a few lines of color bar vertically from left to right.
5) A sudden change of timing with random fonts of white background to black background.

A demo films is calculated to hide the bads and show the goods, with this, its easy to see if the content is being artificial dims, brightness changed, and color lost.

I will compensate for my OLED's dimness on a bright screen with no blooming. I like to have more sharp images than images with bloom. Imo OLEDs are the best you can get. It's better to watch a bright movie on a QLED than an OLED as the intensity in colors is better.

If you have a living room with lots of windows or bright room, Mini LED qn90 is the winner, but if you have a controled dark room OLED is fantastic. I bought sony A80 77" Oled, big problem with my bright room, I couldn't see the image, so I returned it and bought SS qn85a 85", big difference.

I don't mind the peak brightness, but losing the details on darker scenes is what I don't like really

You haven’t mentioned reflections on the screen. We have a LG OLED 55 C2 and the window reflections are awful. I understand LG have recently introduced an anti glare coating to the screen of certain models but are unsure which. I believe the Samsung 55 QN90C also has an anti glare coating. Is this correct?

Im between the QN90C and the S90C for mainly gaming and Netflix/Regular TV watching. While I dont rhink I watch too many dark games/movies/TV......im well aware of the blooming that occurs with miniLED sets. Is the S90C close in brightness of the QN90C??

The thing i found about brightness is that if your TV is too bright (like the QN90), you can always turn it down. If your TV isn't bright enough, there's nothing you can do to make it brighter

I don't understand why the C3 looks so dimmed down, especially when gaming. I have an older OLED (E6) but with OLED Lightness set at 100 its so damn bright, very different compared to some of the comparisons here, more like the VIVID mode, although I don't even use that one. Also the new OLED's can go brighter than mine so I just don't understand.
Then another thing I noticed, the image on the C3 looks way sharper. Almost like 4K vs 1090P. Is this purely a camera or angle issue here, or is the QN90C seriously this blurry!?

Oled looks a million times better, but still has serious issues with combustion and lifespan. I would personally choose an lcd panel. However, if you have an extra $1,000 to spend every two years, you can select Oled.
