By 1969 I was 14 never saw this until adulthood when it played in revival houses. So I lived throughout the sixties how is it that I never heard of The Barbarians who apparently were big enough to be included
ОтветитьGuitar solo at the very end was fantastic. Especially for the mid 60s. People think it was probably Glen Campbell ?
ОтветитьJames Brown absolutely stole the show.
ОтветитьDidn’t remember what Billy J. Kramer looked like. Unlike the loose standards of 1964, the teen lust of “Little Children” would put the tune on 2024’s Does Not Fly List.
ОтветитьOut F'ING Standing all the way through
ОтветитьACE
ОтветитьProbably the best concert ever.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know who played the rippin guitar outro?
ОтветитьI was 18 during all of this. The 60s went on to produce some amazing music and groups.
ОтветитьNo one can perform like James Brown. No one.
Ответить'The Rolling Stones from Liverpool'?
ОтветитьSad To note, all of the members (the Complete band) Gerry and the Pacemakers are dead.
ОтветитьWhat's wrong with the sound? The same blanket of noise for every act!
ОтветитьYeah!
ОтветитьSuch great music back in the 1960s, but "it's all over now".
Ответить"The Rolling Stones from Liverpool"?
ОтветитьHow TOTALLY PRICELESS IS THIS?!?!?!
ОтветитьIt was fitting The Beach Boys introduced the T.A.M.I. Show recorded in Los Angeles. Without that fact I'd not say so. I was there, 1964, age 16.
ОтветитьI love Leslie Gore, she could really sing. Her songs were always about a boy cheating on her. That was Teri Garr dancing behind her. These we the best American group to go up against the Stones, Beatles and the rest of the British invasion, I'll take the American w/ the exception of the Barbarians who ever the are. I will say the Stones were the hit of the show
ОтветитьThe musical ZENITH of the mid '60s.
ОтветитьInteresante video.Son Jan& James?,los de surf music?
ОтветитьThe Santa Monica Civic was a great place to see concerts, I went to my first one there in 1973, to see Hawkwind, but later I saw, Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher, Journey, Status Quo, Tangerine Dream, Mahogany Rush, the Clash and more...!
ОтветитьJames Brown was a show-stealing maniac, and one of the greatest performers that ever lived. Fight me.
ОтветитьDancers were choreographed by Toni Basil, who later appeared as a hooker in the movie 'Easy Rider'. Teri Garr can be seen while the Miracles are playing. She's the one in the striped shirt on the left.
ОтветитьJames Brown stole the show. He was sensational.
ОтветитьWhat's with the dead audience??
ОтветитьThe Rolling Stones set were all American covers. I wonder what Earl Hooker thought about it .
I already know what Chuck Berry’s reaction was!
In the intro song:''....the Rolling Stones from Liverpool....'' lol.
ОтветитьContrary to the urban legend, the Stones did not follow James Brown. They each performed on separate nights of this two-night concert.
ОтветитьJagger would be a national joke if he came on to the scene now with his ludicrous footwork! Ha ha
Ответить‘Moulty’ - The Barbarians 1966
ОтветитьLightening in a bottle
ОтветитьI remember going to see this at atheatre in my home town... St Louis . When I was 14. I'm now 74. What memories! Greatest music ever. Loved that ti.e in my life.
ОтветитьWhat did T.A.M.I. stand for?
ОтветитьThis was the first non jazz festival show where the audience and the performers were integrated. One month after the Civil Rights Act was signed.
BTW Teri Garr is one of the dancers. And check out Chuck Berry eyeballin' the white women.
Toni Basil is the choreographer.
I love how when the dancers come out the audience goes wild. The dancers represent the girls in the audience.
ОтветитьOk guitar gear geeks, BEACH BOYS live ( you can tell because the chorus is faster than the verses..adrenaline kicks in) and how bout the tweed FENDER Bassman and Carl and a
Al thru a DualShowman cabinet with two separate Showman heads!
I don't know if anybody noticed that at 1 hour and 7 minutes that's Teri garr dancing with The Supremes
ОтветитьWhat was unique is (women) spectators shouting all over the performances. Anyway the Rolling Stones 60 years ago amd still rolling ....wow
Ответить
