It's an innate trait to recocnize and utilize mathematics. Not only in Human behavior and creativity but, now being observed in the plant, animal, mycellial, mineral, and force behavior. The mathematical reach of interspecies communication also is a litmus for degrees of self awareness. The connection is ao primal and sacred math is a real thing.

I highly recommend looking into Michael Levin's work in bio-electricity. It may seem unrelated, but I'd say, it's by and far the most empirically grounded approach to really seeing the whole; how even simple algorithms, simple physical processes, are "not" just computational in the classic sense. It's very much a religious experience seeing the potential of even the simplest, humblest systems in nature.

This AI thing needs to be destroyed now before it's to late.

Your infinitesimal free will (in relation to absolute free will of God) is enough to give you the experience of freedom yet not violent enough to disturb God's mathematics, which determines everything yet allows everyone.

Re Free Will. Our decisions are made using the content of experience. The view of mechanism does not have access to that content as causal information. Furthermore the mechanistic picture defines it terms with the use of cognitive experience but ignores what that signifies.
We should assume that evidence of the movement of energy throughout the Universe has the same origin as our neuronal activity. Will and intention manifests in all energetic phenomena and all is an emanation of Being.

We are a 'piece' of this universe...a "avatar" of 'consciousness'...the ultimate field for creation. So that "IT"... "CONSCIOUSNESS"... could have this EXPERIENCE in ALL IT'S manifestions. -namaskaram

It seems that most objections towards Robert Sapolski are expressed in an anger-ridden dialog which never quite expresses tangible reason....just anger at the apparent accusation that Robert Sapolsky is being authoritative and dogmatic about his conjecture on no free-will.

Consciousness is not just electric current in the brain, because then that current would generate consciousness, and that is contrary to the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Thoughts are patterns, system and order, the 2nd law of thermodynamics says that if the brain is a closed system (in other words; generating its own consciousness) then the brain will only increase in disorder and electrical chaos with time, and never be able to converge to systematic and orderly thoughts and ideas; so therefore consciousness with ordered structures in the form of thoughts and ideas must come from outside, and from the outside thoughts and ideas induce the ordered electrical impulses that take place in the brain. This even applies to a misconception, because it is after all a structure, but a structure that is attacked by the chaos in the physical (term.2.nd. law) and will in time, only have 2 ways to go; to its own destruction or to correction and modification over to that which corresponds to reality. So free will is real, because we can shoose any direction, even an obvious wrong one.
