Musescore HELP! Getting a Certain Number of Measures Per Stave

Thanks - very helpful. I know how to determine how many measures to fit in a line using Finale, but I couldn't figure out how to do the same thing in MuseScore. So your video helped a lot!

Go to Format > Add Remove System Breaks > choose the number of measures > Done

Now how would one create a double barline after every 12 measures?

A million thanks! Seems to me, and my faulty memory, that the measures per system was something you could choose when you were creating a new score. Now, it’s near impossible to even find a reference in the user’s manual about this. I was just getting ready to sit down and read through the manual again, and set aside a few hours to do this. Your demo was quick and precise and saved me much time! Now, I will watch to hear some of your compositions. Thanks again!

You nailed it! Setting the number of measures per line or system is very important to me as a player and arrangers, so why is it a hidden feature in Musescore? Nothing looks more amateurish than a score with one bar on a system with the notes all spread out. You should not have to spend hours searching for the tool to fix it. Thanks so much for this video, and by all means, do more of them!

how do you shorten the measures so that there's let's say, an 8 measure break with the NUMBER rather than have 8 measures of whole note rests?
