Labors of Love Podcast hosted by Hafeeza Ture: This episode I had the privilege of speaking with Angelica Knight an educator, doula and exercise physiologist from North Carolina. Angelica studied exercise physiology through her undergraduate and masters degrees, taking on employment after graduation that centered on her population of interest: studying Exercise Science and its relationship to pregnancy. As the Recruitment Coordinator, she was drawn to birthwork attending childbirth education and breastfeeding classes. Shortly after leaving research, she started her pursuit of her doula work part time in late 2019 while she worked at the local hospital; she has been practicing as a doula almost for 2 years now. Angelica is also currently enrolled in a Pathway 2 IBCLC Lactation program as well to expand and learn better ways to promote breastfeeding rates within the community."
