Moodz616 Presents: My Top 30 Horror Films of 2014

Hey Moodz.  2014 has been pretty disappointing for movies in general for me, but then I havn't seen many of the Indie stuff.  I'll be getting Billy Club sometime soon, looks awesome.  Wolf Creek 2 is great and I agree about the Kangaroo scene.  I've heard they want to do a 3rd one.  Found was good, but the acting was bad.  Great to see Housebound in there, I loved it and its my favourite horror of 2014, perfect combo of dark humour, horror and mystery and the atmosphere was fantastic.  It's from New Zealand by the way.  I'd recommend you check out The Babadook whenever you can, its great.  Do you know if Town That Dreaded Sundown is getting a DVD or Blu ray release?  I really want to see that.  It sucks VHS Viral isn't meant to be very good, as I loved the first 2 VHS movies.  I'll still check it out sometime.

Wolf Cop is great I have it on Bluray as well as the soundtrack on vinyl same with Under The Skin, Wolf Creek 2 was good but after a second watch I didn't like it as much just seemed to be the Nightmare on Elm St 2 of Australian horror, Daddy's Little Girl was good I still need to pick it up on Bluray, I've wanted to check out the Sun That dreaded Sundown as well as Evil Feed, Big Bad Wolves, Dead Snow 2, Wrath of Crows and As Above So Below

Damn The Town That Dread Sundown at 23, it would make my top 5. Big Bad Wolves is awesome. I liked Wolf Creek 2, but I prefer the first one. Septic Man was just nasty , did gag so many times. I need to see found, sounds great. Housebound is my number 1... fantastic video Moodz.

Great review seen all them myself. Sonno Profondo and Found The Hornet's Nest was excellent. I can't put down any of them really.I would have to think about mine quite hard. I have couple in mind. Great Reviews dude. Looking forward to see another great year of reviews.

Fuck Moodz, I gotta see The Cemetery. I've heard such good things. I just went to West Ed and fucking destroyed their horror section when I went to Black Label Society. Picked up around 30 titles. Hoping to amp up my collection again after the fucking burgler assholes stole all my shit. I'm actually surprised of the flicks they have at the mall man. You probably have all of em of course, but still it was a good day for me man hahaha. Good episode dude. Peace.

Did you not see The Babadook? 

I'm glad to see As Above So Below almost cracked your top 10. As I was watching I was like I cant believe this guy didnt like this film enough to make top 30. Then bam right before top 10. Great top 30. Starry Eyes, Late Phases, and Babadook would make your list for sure.

Yo moodz! Great list, 2014 definitely was the year of the indie. I still need to see Pieces of Talent and Found. I loved the Den and the Sacrament! I did see See no Evil 2 and you didn't miss a thing unfortunately. Really bad I am a Soska fanboy.

Are those original posters in back ground?? Maniac, dawn of the dead, evil dead. I just bought an original "from beyond" poster and "phantasm 2" and the 81 "nightmare" I have the alternate nightmare poster which is way bad ass. has the knife and the chick screaming in the reflection.  Dude I loved Oculus and I have heard a lot of people say they hated it. I seen it in the theater and the chick told us we are going to love it, and she was right. me and the chick I went with both loved it. I just thought the history behind the mirror and the lady in the mirror and the way the mom went mad was just way creepy to me.

I go to see ever horror movie that gets released at the theater. I seen as above so below at the theater and loved it too. Again just like Oculus mass people say they hate it. I love both of em. Oculus is in my top 5 of all time. that's just me though

I rent all the IFC and magnet horror films that get released at family video and then I buy a bunch of them used for cheap at family video later on.

Dude I freaking love "found" what was the movie in the movie Headless??

I seen pieces of talent for free on line. I know your going to be like what!, but I didn't like that much. I guess because I expected too much because everyone acts like its so great. all I got from it was a guy who kills people. I didn't get a motive or nothing about him, just dude lies and pretends to be a director or producer or whatever and kills a few people. I don't know and because the lead guy just got on my nerves for some reason, but you said you thought he was so likable. I mean I didn't hate it, but yea I know everyone acts like it is a master piece and I just don't see how a movie like that out does all the other ones. I mean As above so below and Oculus and then the straight to video IFC and magnet releases and the macabre releases. I just don't see it, but I definitely respect your opinion and your choices for sure. Maybe I should give it another try.

Great list moodz, if you get the chance you should check out last carass/ black aria. It is a modern giallo's double bill by the same directors.

I haven't seen all the films on your list but I would have probably had Under The Skin as my number 1.

Hey mate awesome list i can't believe wolf cop still isn't out in Canada we got it in Australia a few months back.It is a really fun movie such weird premise but i enjoyed it.Billy club sounds fucking awesome man definitely going to track that down as soon as possible. Man this really was the year for indie horror so many amazing movies i also heard Above so below is really good but i could only find it for 32 dollars and no fucking way am i going to pay that so i have to wait for it to drop in price.I haven't seen Dead snow 2 yet i fucking love the first one would you say the sequel is just as good or even better i will watch it either way just want to no your thoughts on it cheers man.Oh and by the way Housebound is 100% kiwi good vid once again cheers Bud.
