Received signal strength indicator - RSSI

This indicator measures the linear average of the total received power observed only in OFDM symbols containing reference symbols for antenna port, which is measured over the entire bandwidth, includes co‐channel serving and non‐serving cells, adjacent channel interference, and thermal noise everything.

RSSI (wideband power) = noise + serving cell power + interference power.

When comparing with RSRP (serving cell power), if RSSI is very high, that means there is undesired signal (noise/interference) is present and it is imperative to optimize it.
