A girlfriend of mine years ago used to be a dancer at the BBC. She used to recount stories about DLT testing his strength at parties by physically picking up two attractive girls with each hand and in so doing ensuring his hands were placed in sexually strategic places on their bodies. I love John Peel - the DJ but the more interviews you hear, the more words you read on-line, the more I'm persuaded he didn't really like any of the Radio 1 DJs, some possibly rivalled him with new music firsts. DLT was maybe disco/MOR but his shows were immensely popular and his background, like John's, in Pirate Radio playing new music. Anyway, as a person , sad to say, I wonder if he was a bit of a snob, which is fine related to music, but not to fellow man (and woman).
