If Lucy deserved any punishment for a harmless Tweet, it should have been at a Magistrates court, couple hundred quid fine and released. Her jail term is inhumane and abhorrent.

Lucy Connely did not understand the law, her brief never explained the absolute seriousness of the charge '' with intent ''. a trial jury would never of convicted her ....let down by her defence....and the justice system.....advised to plead guilty for a quick get you home result?...it was a quick send you to prison result....total disgrace, nobody helped her out...she hadnt got a clue what she had admitted to......lamb to the slaughter.....

She is not going to be in prison that long as the judge recommended that she serve only 40% of the sentence and be on licence for the remainder. She will do about 12 months. Sadly this lady seems to have complex mental issues which need addressing. Did she promote violence? Of course she did - what other interpretation can be put on her words? Is that to be tolerated or be acceptable? Absolutely not. I hope the sentence will deter others from doing the same.

I've seen police officers in the news who were arrested for possessing kiddy porn and they were given no punishment, how about the criminals that stab peoplke? Many are given suspended sentences, is this government really saying that getting angry and saying something horrible is worse than sticking a knife into someone's stomach?

Lucy will no doubt be forced to sign a NDA to silence her on release. She should go to the US and get asylum for political persecution.
