Be sure to get a bike with anti-lock brakes. They considerably improve safety.

The MSF course is far better than necessary despite its deficiencies. For one thing, you never exceed about 20 mph and never ride in traffic.

my problem is I live in a apartment, I knowthat  I could buy a bike and put it in a storage but in my area storage build run a pretty penny,  I really don't wanna pay for storage fees when I could put that towards the bike, anybody have any suggestions on how I could make my situation work. p.s. I thought of just chaining it under my staircase and keeping a weather poof cover on it because I live in a pretty low crime rate are.

Totally agree with all your advice here CC, especially #5. I started with a DRZ400 and about 7 months later got a sv650s. It was a great way to work up to freeway riding, allowed me to learn different riding styles, and now I have two bikes from which to choose in the garage! Keep on doing what you're doing CC!

Hey, Cruza I'm new to motorbike riding and I do know the basics but however, I really want to learn how to steer sharp corners and how to perform U-turns and also how to navigate around corners, cars, etc when you are traveling at a slower speed. hey CycleCruza I've taken the MSF course and I'm working on getting a bike but I'm not sure which one to get. I'm 5'7'' at 250lbs and from what alot of people are saying, apparently I weigh too much for a 250 or 300 and I should start with a 600cc bike... Thoughts??

So maybe if you make another beginner video, you should mention this one important fact that everyone skips. Beginners only buy bigger bikes because they think they'll get made fun of by friends and other bikers. They don't know that no one cares, fellow bikers only care that you're on two wheels, and friends probably won't be able to tell what size the engine is if you take the bagels off, and some might not even know what 250 or 300 even means. So fellow bikers will just praise you for being a fellow biker lol, and if friends even know about bikes, then they probably won't care but if they do and it affects you, then lie and just take the badges off, then boom you're clear.

I'm looking at a 2007 Suzuki gs500 for my first bike, do you think a 500cc bike is good for a beginner? I rode my friends bike that's also a 500cc and it felt pretty good

I have some experience riding dirt bikes when I was younger. I hadn't been on a bike in 10 years... then I jumped on a friends Grom for a bit and now I have the fever!! I gots to have one! I have to admit I think it was small and slow for me so I'm considering a Honda Cbr500R. So this will be technically the first bike I own. Do you have any advice?

hi cycle cruza! im starting on a Kawasaki z1000cc 2008 , so far im loving my bike , but I have a message for any crazy fuck like me  planning on getting a liter bike for first bike! , first is scary as fuck the first time and if you cant control yourself in fear full moments you better believe you will fuck up ! the torque on this bikes is really serious AND THIS BIKES DONT ACCEPT RIDER ERROR VERY WELLYOU GOT LIKE 2% ONLY ,controlling the weight is a bit stressful im 5foot5 weight 135 pounds ,I tip toe the shit out that bike , the clutch release only have the power of a 250 leaving the parking lot in first so only that shit can direct you to panic and crash the bike ,the front brake is amazingly violent ,so if you cant control your brain you will brake the fuck out the bike and dropped it , the reason for not starting on a liter bike people isn't the power at all, IS THE RIDING EXPERIENCE THAT YOU ACTUALLY LACK THAT I PERSONALLY LACK , but you can do it , today is my 4 day with the bike , slow riding fucks me up , but I ride it cool go to 4 gear and back , practicing safe everyday , it scared me but THE SECOND I GO ON HER THE FEAR IS GONE AND THE CONFIDENCE AND VIDEOS YOU SEE WILL COME IN YOUR HEAD AND HELP YOU , SO LISTEN TO CYCLE CRUZA ! Good advice here. I went down saturday morning, because someone pulled out infront of me. Was my first week riding. Took a quarter sized, quarter inch deep chunk of flesh out of my tendon area on the top of my foot. Got up, rode the bike home. Ended up riding to the store later that day to get better stuff to dress my wound. Cant let fear control you, just learn from mistakes. Now, im a lot more cautious in situations where people can pull out in front of me.

Posted below about pilots, riders are a lot like pilots,machines usually better than the pilot. BE a pilot, get seat time to hone skills and ALWAYS do pre flight walk around. Check for loose hanging crap, drips of fluids that could kill you. ALWAYS check both tires fully for nails screws and the like. NO one wants to do 160 with a nail in tubeless tire. Maintain the bike, when they break they can make you fall hard, unlike cars. BE a PILOT you will be better, have more fun and maybe live.

All worth it So ready, ( Just think of your body, has to literally have bumpers on them to live another day without burning bruises or DEATH with some careless selfish drivers. I agree about God, there is a lot of hate and negativity towards motorcyclist. I plan to pray every time I ride, even if I didn't believe I'd still have a mantra: "I ride with confidence, strength and safety", I'm certain it'll help prevent a "f**ked up day" haha.
