Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon II Guinness World Record

Come February 20, 2023, Ladakh will be hosting the Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon, lovingly called The Last Run, first of its kind in India. The name may sound grim but so is the issue of global warming and climate change.

The marathon will take place at an altitude of 13,862 ft, making it the first marathon in the world to ever take place at this altitude. That’s a chance for a Guinness World Record right there.

The entire 21 km stretch of the Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon will be across Pangong Tso. Now that's going to be not only a unique run but also one of the most stunning runs ever.

It is imperative to note that only a limited number of runners will be selected for this as the region is already an ecologically sensitive region.
