Best way to be protected is to unplug your router before you get ddosed, and wait around 1-2 hours for the attacker to forget about you, works best if you have a longer/confusing name, for example a name like 0na6l91 (I thought of that on the spot)
(Might not work if you shit on someone in skate 3 on Xbox)

Incorrect, you are just a view hungry person. Once you router is restarted the DDoser will get the notification and stop this from happening (if not they will change to it).

The problem with DDOS is that it is ok if that server is in your house or office, but if that server is in a Data Center your server will be blocked by the data center, to prevent network packets being sent to your IP. So, noting will ever stop DDOS attacks unless data centers block them at point of entry other than that it is your responsibility and they WILL shut your server down to prevent traffic going to your server. But just like all things, the
"hacker" gets bored and moves on to somebody else.
