You missed a great app: Cinema P3. I primarily use the Blackmagic Camera app, but Cinema P3 allows for locked SS and auto ISO (you can even cap it at 250, 500, 1000 and 2000), which is great for camera moves with noticeable light variations.
ОтветитьI wish Apple camera app, Final Cut camera app, Blackmagic camera app, and Fimic Pro app support iPhones flashlight on for recording videos in the dark like REC app (free) has the flashlight icon on iPhones screen to turn the flashlight on for recording videos in the dark whent it's needed.
ОтветитьTry cinema p3. It is viable
ОтветитьIm having problems with blackmagic app, all the images that im shooting is getting noise. No metter what i do. can you help me?
ОтветитьCan you not take pics with blackmagic? /: a camera app that can only take videos, is trash to me 😂🤷🏼♂️ hopefully it can, but I can’t find any option to take pics on the app and I’m blown away
ОтветитьIs there any other free camera app? other than Blackmagic, because it's not supporting the iPhone X, it's saying at least XS...
ОтветитьI am confuidentd!
Why is Black Magic a “camera app” when the app only supports the recording part and not taking photos?
There was an app simply called “Portrait Editor” that is no longer available and made use of some features like depth of field and Stage Light together but, didn’t allow users to save the image at full size. I have been looking forward to an app that extends the use of these iphone multi camera features if anyone knows of one.
ОтветитьCinema p3 is perfect
Ответитьbro, thank you!!
ОтветитьCinemaP3
ОтветитьBro thank u so much for your production. It took me a week to research apps for my iPhone lens investment and this has been the most honest explanation 😊
ОтветитьIs there an app that can shoot120/240fps with full manual control on shutter, focus and iso?
ОтветитьCinemaP3.
ОтветитьI like Blackmagic however it doesn’t have audio monitoring.
ОтветитьHey there, hopefully, you're still responding to reactions on older videos. I'm not sure if you have an answer to this, as you seem to be mainly a filmmaker, but I'm looking for an iPhone 15 Pro Max camera photography app that allows me to save in log (if that's even possible), but also shoot with the ability to change the aperture, like the portrait mode from the vanilla camera app. Is there even such a thing?
Ответитьpro take has display assistants and has 4444
ОтветитьI'm surprised this review would discuss things like codec and exposure control, and not the no1 weakness in the default photo app: inability to chose which lens you want to use. You'd think this would be the main point discussed about what 3rd arty apps have to offer.
ОтветитьDoes the Blackmagic camera app allow you to adjust the input gain for an external microphone?
Ответитьbeen learning a lot from you and didnt realize it til just now...SUBBED! lol
ОтветитьBlackmagic app doesn’t have torch which is annoying
ОтветитьHow do you take a photo with blackmagic mine only does video
ОтветитьYou should have included Cinema P3 Pro.
ОтветитьThanks, Michael. The BlackMagic App has a comfortable design, but there are bugs. the BMA takes over audio level when I attach the Shure MV88+ mic, ignoring the settings I've stored in the mic using the Shure Motiv app. I'm not sure I like the way the Lock function works in the BMA - it doesn't seem to let us lock certain things separately, like shutter speed. "Never wear new running shoes in a race." And, "Never use a new app when your business depends on it."
ОтветитьCinema P3 is also really good
ОтветитьThe Black Magic app is awesome, giving us tools like that for free is very cool and has pretty much cemented my brand loyalty going forwards. I also recently bought Beastcam which is also a good app at a great price. I bought Filmic Pro on Android just before the switch to the subscription model so I now have no problem sideloading the latest pre-subscription version on my iPhone to make use of the smooth 4 gimbal features, which as far as I'm aware are missing from the other apps. I will be checking out Protake as a result of this video so thanks!
ОтветитьI can’t get away from filmic pro, the zoom slider is what keeps me. I don’t like the scroll to zoom, I enjoy the a camcorder like zoom. Honestly it’s the best way to zoom and can’t see any other way. Wayyy smother
ОтветитьDo you think that now with the cinematic mode api open, will we be able to shoot log + cinematic (to control the depth of field) inside blackmagic camera app?
That would be a dream
Nice video! Interested in your guide to learn more about these apps but has the sale ended?
ОтветитьWhat about Halide Mark II? How does it compare?
ОтветитьGreat comparison. Am I missing something? You said you have a link to your presets for the Blackmagic cam app but I don’t see the link.
ОтветитьHey Micheal , Did you get the early access of Motioncam pro for realtime prores recording?
ОтветитьThank you for this review. I used the Filmic Pro App for years and also paid the subscription for the first year. Then I tried the Blackmagic app and it really looks great. Was a game changer for me, that it supports Apple Log with H.265 and not only with Prores. But I still wait for some features like well working Timelapse (difficult to use right now) and remote control.
ОтветитьJust followed you on IG. 🥰😍
Ответитьany idea if you can monitor the black magic app using an ipad like you can with filmic? i use this feature a lot to film myself
ОтветитьDon't forget Cinema P3 pro . Excellent App for like a 1 time payment of $11.
I Love the BM app.
Also I really feel like Filmic is just lost now and so sick of the subscription model everyone is going for.
I think get 1 App . Stick to it and learn ALL it;'s features instead of jumping around will make you a much better filmmaker!
Nice vid!
For me Cinema P3 and Filmic Pro and the best for different reasons. Filmic Pro has tons of great features like gimbal compatibility and double take but it's a subscription service. Cinema P3 it great and is a one off payment. Protake has zero customer service which steered me away from it unfortunately. Blackmagic is great and free but I think it will be a while before we see it's full potential.
ОтветитьFilmic pro initially when they first started it's a one time purchase app and use it all. I feel cheated because they now upgraded the app and move on with new v2 subscription base and the old one just dies off...make me hate them the most among the rest. Day light roberry.
ОтветитьMavis Pro Camera
ОтветитьThanks Michael. Re the BMC App; I think the focus and exposure points are still locked together (?). The Pro Camera App is an example of an App that has the 2 “reticules” separated.
ОтветитьFoto gear Is the best app at least on a Chinese AppStore
ОтветитьWhat does BeastGrip App do for smart exposure? What makes it get better low light?
ОтветитьFor me, having a way to remotely control my phone is crucial. I used Filmic for years and when they went to the subscription model I searched for an alternative. MoviePro does what I need. It's not as slick as some of the other apps, but it is "fully featured." And it's a one time cost. I think it's $6.99 for the app. I don't remember how much the remote costs. It's probably a couple dollars. It can also record with multiple lenses. I haven't tried to use it to control more than one phone, but I'm sure it can do it like the Filmic remote app.
ОтветитьI just wish one of them could have the cinematic mode to control the bokeh using the the iphone 15 pro max😢
ОтветитьI love this review collection of these apps and I wish that your video’s timeline was time stamped for each app so we could easily switch back and forth from each review.
Ответитьblack magic lets you save to a SSD
ОтветитьMaybe I’m missing something here, but I wish there was a way to select bit depth and bit rate in black magic like there is on Filmic Pro.
ОтветитьI think apple should just add manual mode on camera app like what android have
ОтветитьMovie pro
