i am there in the club, just arrived with that Old Devil Moon: Dexter Gordon.
ОтветитьDoes he resemble Obama or have I had too much wine?
ОтветитьEvery woman in that audience is thinking what they'd name the kids she and Dexter would have. I'm being polite.
ОтветитьDexter Gordon and Billie Holiday, two timeless artists forever among my favourites.
ОтветитьKinda looks like President Obama to me.
ОтветитьOutstanding! A real classic! Live it
ОтветитьBarack Obama on tenor sax!
Ответитьsuperfine .. just what i've needed .. thank you.
ОтветитьDexter Gordon - mix...

ОтветитьHoly cow, what a tone. Great post, thank you.
ОтветитьGREAT....
ОтветитьHATS OFF EVERYONE..!
ОтветитьEnvoûtant
ОтветитьWow...With a speaking voice like that, it's no wonder that he got that sound out of his tenor!
ОтветитьDexter. What a wonderful man and musician !! Wonderful performance by everyone.
Ответитьwow man
Ответить6 thumbs down?????
ОтветитьI love how he stayed around the melody when he improvised.
Ответитьwowowowwowo
ОтветитьHOLY SHIT ! That was HEAVY !
ОтветитьWhat a big head.
ОтветитьLester died... Dexter lived... now Dexter died... what's new?
ОтветитьLo maximo que maestro.
ОтветитьWhat a great Tenor sax player!! Thanks for posting.
ОтветитьSo soft, so strong! Magical song!! 🙏
Ответитьoof ok I just saw Dexter with a lot of sweat...believe me I know how much effort it takes to produce such an awesome sound
mmmmmmmmmm i wanna be like him in the future mmmmmmmmmmm (dies of admiration)
Sweet rendition of a great standard from one of Coltrane's major influences.
ОтветитьThe one and only “Long tall” Dexter!
ОтветитьI really like music like this, real soul....im 38years old tho...i dont think im from this era😎
ОтветитьNobody's has commented his speech before playing the tune. Please consider this was played before 1969. "How's the world treating you ?", "you haven't changed a bit" and "you lovely has ever" were very sarcastic of course.
ОтветитьMost if not all jazz sax players work hard to find a unique saxophone sound. After 25 years, I’m still trying to come close to Dexter’s sound.
ОтветитьGreat stuff
ОтветитьTone isn't too good, a bit hard and his tuning is a bit shakey, some notes are flat, maybe he had a bad day? Solo was nothing special.
ОтветитьBravo
ОтветитьGreat.
ОтветитьHe was spice mellow cool in a tall glass
ОтветитьMajestic
ОтветитьHe had amazing subtlety. A true master. I remember I first learned of him when I saw the film ``Round Midnight'' in college in 1986. Beautiful film, and I am grateful that it got me started on jazz!
ОтветитьIMO the strongest period for Dexter was the early-mid 60's overseas. Just perfection, never a wasted note.
ОтветитьGREAT SAXOPHONIST UNDER THE SCOURGE OF SNOW,WHAT A SIN!!!!!
ОтветитьLove his tone!!!
ОтветитьJust got hooked on this tune and this version is just great! I love dexter especially on ballads.I realy dig the fact he knows the lyrics, that’s an important tool to have when improvising with a real meaning.many players today learn tunes without ever listening to them sung or at all and even play them wrong sometimes.
ОтветитьLove it ❤❤❤❤
