What a sad and tragic life.
ОтветитьThanks Alan, Most EXCELLENT Sir.
ОтветитьWow. Shame on you. This is the reason celebrities have non disclosure agreements.
ОтветитьWhat a cruel, cruel interview. You shouldn't discuss such personal things like this. Yma Sumac was a very proud woman and would hate to be remembered this way. She'd like people to remember her amazing voice and career and not by her mental frailty as an elderly woman. We all had mothers and grandmothers and know how old age can be and certainly wouldn't like to see it discussed online.
ОтветитьYma Sumac was always such a mystery. Not anymore, if any of this is true. I feel sad suddenly. Not quite how I want to remember her.
ОтветитьThank you Mr Eichler 🌠
ОтветитьThank you Alan, very heart felt interview.
ОтветитьThank you Alan, Yma is my great aunt. I have a photo with her and my mother around 1968. Of course don't remember meeting her. I've been collecting her early 1942 recordings. Hopefully she'll get her Grammy.
ОтветитьGrammy Lifetime Achievement Award for Yma, yes!
ОтветитьI actually drove her to the post office in 1998. She was a neighbor of mine and was great fun. She wanted me to call her Mrs Vivaco. I saw her last concert in Montreal and was so happy she'd given her last concert in a venue worthy of her, unlike a German TV show she was on that was absolutely beneath her. The last time I saw her was about 2003 or 4 walking in Hollywood with a young guy who was arm in arm with her. He looked sort of punk rock, but was very gentle with her...Maybe her grandson?
ОтветитьDIVINA QUEEN YMA SUMAC 😍😍❤
ОтветитьThank you so very much Alan. This interview was very touching and your honesty and observations invaluable.
ОтветитьVoice of the Xtabay was also released on a smaller-size LP, which my grandmother had.
