ОтветитьYou know what’s also concerning to me? How many people nowadays refuse to do their own research about literally anything. Which relates back to the topic of the video, they’ll only pay attention to that particular topic if someone else gives it to them in a digestible, non time consuming manner. In every comment section there’s that one commenter that doesnt understand whats going on and asks someone to explain it to them. That always baffles me. You have literally everything you need to do your own research right at your fingertips yet you’d rather a stranger who you dont know if they’re actually well informed explain that topic to you?? Thats how misinformation spreads so quickly and people start to lose their critical thinking skills😭
ОтветитьThe ideas which are contained in this video are truly insightful. I've watched this video a couple of times religiously because of the fact that I can't simply shake these ideas all away. Especially, since they're all directly affecting my experience of living. I've thought about this video a lot. I even read Brave New World to deepen my understanding of the ideas you stated in this video. I'll read Neil Postman's book soon in order to understand the context better. However, I still feel like this video is a little bit too entertaining and I often find myself distracted by the entertainment rather than focusing on the main ideas you're trying to convey.
Nevertheless, your video is still truly an insight. Your video was brought by the algorithm to me and the day I first watched this video my life changed significantly. You gave me a new perspective to view the way modern people such as me live. Before this video, I've always felt like something is very wrong about the relationship between people and mass produced information and how it effects the overall experience of living. But, I just couldn't pinpoint on where it went wrong and how it went wrong. And, now, I'm more intrigued than ever to deepen my understanding regarding this matter all thanks to you (and the algorithm ig).
This is an amazing piece of research and opinion. Well thought out.
Ответитьwish i could make videos about overthinking life 😮💨

Ответитьu r literally saying what I always wanted to say. your content is like fresh air
ОтветитьVery informational video. I wish to do a case study on this subject.
ОтветитьThere were a number of writers here in the US, mid 20th century who tried to raise consciousness, and sound the alarm, on this problem. Now look at the situation!! My recommendation for a good initial overview of the problem is Jerry Mander's "Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television." The (first known/documented) use of distractions on a grand scale for successful population managing goes back to Classical Antiquity (in Rome): "Bread and Circuses." It's also noteworthy that, at about this same time, a Greek political analyst/historian, Polybius, published his ideas or theory of anacyclosis, the phenomenon or problem of regime cycles.
ОтветитьI'm trying to take rest from tiktok because now i can't even watch my favorite shows or anything without feeling bored even tho it's not boring
ОтветитьI just got back from vacation where there wasn't any reception and I feel alot better without having been on my phone 24/7. I also realized how much I really use the Internet to distract from feeling sad. I'm homeschooled and I feel like I've been further isolating myself and using social media as an alternative to social interaction.
Ответитьoh my god, this video was a fucking eye opener, i - THANKYOU
ОтветитьI did a lot of these in my studies:)) it made me hate the world 😭 media is very very calculated even the smallest things that we think are unimportant is so calculated and thought-out and can shape our views in big ways - scary bit is we don’t even realise it. That and combined with the “main character syndrome” (what about me-ism) of today’s age, not only every media is believed but most of the time we are not going to cross-check or do proper research to see if the information we just received is true - or at the least- to shape our own opinions on matters, because what I saw just HAS to be true. Or what I BELIEVE, even if it’s based on incorrect info, IS the TRUTH. The saddest thing is, we are not forced to be like this - we are literally choosing to do so because of many reasons (and a lot of them really valid reasons). What I mean is that we can restrict our consumption of media and be aware of what media we listen to (as in we get information from) - that’s the part we choose not to do
ОтветитьSteezy put me here
