Cardio has huge mental benefits as well. Most sports demand both--many jobs demand both--and life is easier with both. My unsolicited thoughts :)

I've lifted regularly for about 3 years. For the last 1 year, I've cycle a lot. if anything, the cycling has improved my lifts, rather than things staying the same. I feel like my breathing is less taxed now and It's been particularly helpful with improving similar lower body exercises, such as lunges.

What if my cardio is 10000 steps EVERYDAY. That shouldnt affect muscle and strength gains right? The study discussed running and jogging, so how about walking?

Im not a body builder. But I just started my exercise for the last 3 months.

I walk with stairs carrying 2lbs for 20 mins.

Next 30 mins: running stairs
Then 1 hr: dumbells
Next hr warm up and taekwondo kicks

I dont care what journals say. I need the cardio to improve my endurance on taekwondo kicks.

I literally lift weights in tabata and my muscles grow just fine. Snatches, lunges, cable presses, squats, all in tabata with dumbbells in my hands. Doesn't stop me from getting stronger.

As long as there done on different days .if you want to build more muscle emphasize your workouts to what you want to achieve ,eg 3 days a week moderate to your heavy resistance training / twice a week do cardio 45 minutes to an hour ea h session and if you want a cardio emphasized work out reverse this routine most of these influences out there over complicate th8ngs and make it hard to understand what there talking about it's not rocket science here's an example if you want to be big muscular and vascular cardio should be twice a week max for no mrw than 30 min each session and the flip side you want a lean muscular not to big but flexible body up the cardio to 3/4 times a week with hour long more intense sessions it's simple really I don't know why these you tubers make things so complicated GO SAM SULEK AND DAVID GOGGINS THEY KNOW

I am so sick of the obsession with "gains" taking center stage over health. If you want something to truly test your strength try doing a 60 minute lactate threshold workout at 85-90% max heart rate. It will test your mental strength FAR more than any lifting could ever dream. But you will be rewarded by huge improvements in overall health and endurance, which ironically allow you make the most "gains". I would bet most lifters can't even last 5 minutes at threshold.

This is a nonsense every sport requires a mix of both strength and cardio , the heart benefits from both forms of exercise. If you measure strength alone you may lose some muscle mass but you will gain on stamina. If you look at the health over view for long term longevity the caveman model of hunter gatherer is the greatest blueprint of human endurance

I do 3 sets of different lifts then do 2-5 mins of higher intensity cardio in between. That’s 1 circuit, then I do the circuit 4-8 times for my workout. Sometimes I’ll do a single set of a power lift (ex BB snatches) then the cardio HIIT in between as the circuit. Doing it this way I can both build muscle mass and lose fat while also improving my endurance. For someone in their mid-40s with not a lot of time this has been the most effective workout strategy for me.

Depends what your goals are if you want to be practi ally strong look reasonably good and feel great about yourself just do it 45 minutes rwsistance training and 30 minutes on bike ,traedmill or riwing dont fall into the trap of seeing all tbese utubers who look big and strong most only weigh in at 160, 180 pounds if that then you get juiced up mass monsters unachieveable by most just be you and feel good a out your body fittness and overall health dont fall into tbe utuber trap no wounder so many people are suffering from body dismorphia look in the mirror a d be happy with you

Ответить
@josephdouglas6482
@josephdouglas6482 - 05.12.2024 22:30

Also, it seems like the answer is the classic "it depends." It depends on what you do, how you do it, how often you do it, your own generics, what your goals are, etc. Perhaps cardio and strength training 7 times a week could lead to lack of recovery time and maybe you aren't as strong as you could be, but you just have to think about what you're doing. If you are trying to grow your muscles and you are constantly dehydrating your body with tons of cardio and you can't keep up with enough water intake to rehydrate and fill your muscles, an intense cardio session right after resistance training might not be the best idea.
