Thanks for the video! Honestly I fear that climbing into the flagship area kills the appeal of a cheaper reliable phone to buy in a couple of years when needed. But I see how the specs game goes, it happened before with the Nexus line. Maybe it looks like they'll fail again.

Also finger scan/face ID is a gimmick regarding safety issues.

JK wish you the best, get popular without populism and all that. Cheers

What are people doing on their phones for them to say Tensor is not good? The Pixel problem is the camera. In clear daylight the pictures are good, but on a gloomy day or early morning or late afternoon, or indoors lights, the pixel will fail miserably. Pictures get darker than necessary.

As a pixel 8 pro user. I agree with everything u said 10000%, it's definitely not a bad phone but if they can improve on these things they would easily be #1 in every way possible

Using the 8 pro currently. One thing I love about it is that, it is just so comfortable to use. My friend's 14 pro Max feels bulky, yet it is about the same size as the pixel...

Great video! I totally agree on everything except the charging speed and battery life! I have a pixel 8 Pro and I'm 16 years old and use my phone quite a bit. I usually get 1,9 days of battery life and I think the charging is fine 😁 I am no gamer though

The issue I have in my Google Pixel 8 pro is multitasking with multiple apps open transitioning to sharing videos or a link in WhatsApp or other chat app, after sending the link the link still remains in the chat and I have to backspace to delete it 😡. or else I'll send it a second time. Its like the task is stuck in memory and not clearing out after being sent.🤷🏾‍♂️

People complaining about TENSOR SoC are missing the point... "Long Term Evolution"

1. Custom Silicone is the way to go, especially if your core business is software/ Data.

2. Iterative development - the "exynos route" is partly to enhance Google's internal chip design team, until they shift to TSMC.
At the same time, security enhancements, AI, Power optimization, and specialised features are still be developed/ tweaked.

There's a development curve to this and to be fairly honest - even the first TSMC TENSOR chip might not be perfect the first time around...but hey that's how innovation works!

Unfortunately, regarding performance, all the reports suggest that this year's Tensor SoC will be the tiniest upgrade, as it is based on the same Samsung SoC that Pixel 8 has. So, basically, it's the very same chip. Next year Google will hopefully move away from Samsung manufacturing, so 2025 might be a better year for Pixels.

I switch through Samsung Apple and Google all year and i never felt like Google needs a better processor. Nobody really notice how fast apps load until it's incredibly slow and i haven't noticed it one time. Actually it moves like butter and i prefer the smoothness over Samsung. Anything that needs more power i would want a bigger canvas to use anyway like a tablet or laptop. I don't want to video edit on a smaller device. 🤷🏾‍♂️ I just think we just want something to complain about to be honest

Who else thinks google last trash Tensor chip is the G4? I mean this should be just wiping what was left from Pixel 8 production and that's why they even rushed the launch to get more time on the next chip Tensor G5. I think 10 will be fire with TSMC.

Almost ordered s24U this week, coming from Iphone 12PM. hardware needs to be current otherwise it will be lacking, seeing the SOC on my current phone perform better then G4 (leaks) in tings like Geekbench6, 3dmark etc. I am not sure i would bite, keeping my options open for the 16PM.

I currently have the Pixel 8 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the performance from one phone to the other is beastly but I still love the Pixel 8 Pro for the quality of the photos and all the AI features. But I have faith that in 2025, now that Google will partner with TSMC for the development of the Tensor G5 SoC and in future SoCs that are more powerful, they will be more efficient and have much better performance so that they are on par with Apple SoCs and Snapdragon SoCs.

I subbed. But I have thoughts. I'm a foldable user but I have an 8 pro. Battery life has been great, g3 chip isn't the biggest strength yet biggest Achilles heel like the g2...the pixel 8 pro is a great phone and if I have complaints? It's that it needs to get its software a bit more solid and give out the features when they promise them.

I had Pixel 7 Pro & 8 Pro, camera beats the iPhone 15 Pro Max which I had and sold for S24 Ultra, it also beats that as well, but I need a phone that works as well, don't talk to me about fingerprint scanner or face unlock at night, gawd they really need to improve this! Google have the best AI and camera processing though, looking forward to seeing what they do this year to bring it up to standard as a phone, cos I'm not paying all that money for a camera and weak phone! Cheers from UK. 😊

The rounded edges are cutting off a lot of games and apps, they do not seem to be optimized well for the pixel phone at all. Also like Netflix when watching movies the edges of the movie gets cut off as well. That's honestly my only gripes man I'd like to see them optimize the screen a little bit better with the rounded edges or just go to a square form for their screen. We now have to wait for developers to see if they update their apps for the pixel phone which they may never do and we may be stuck with them being pushed off of the screen like Star Wars Hunters where you can't even see some of the icons and part of the screen. Also Netflix cuts off the corners so I'm hoping because they're so popular that that gets fixed, but I also feel like Google should be optimizing my screen better for apps after all these years of putting out devices that should not be an issue for the price point. Kinda crazy.
Everyone will say oh well that's on the app developers when it's like no man many many new phones get released every year and they optimize their phones for media and gaming to make sure the apps work correctly so you know I don't think that's acceptable to be honest.
