So is this a call for folks to start looking at k8 then ? Sounds like in general it might go away

I love swarm for its sinplicity - and the only new feature I'd like is harmony with the compose file formst.
We spent a very long time trying to move to Kubernetes, and eventually backyracked and stuck with swarm.

Open Source vs proprietary code. There are complexities around both but open source always seems to last longer.

Disappointing news but not unexpected. Swarm is still the sweet spot for small and medium companies that self host and just need basic container orchestration without all the complexity of kubernetes.

I've been a swarm fan and proponent for so many years. I just don't understand why kubernetes gained more traction. I just don't get it.

I can hear the "fork sound" banging already. Not everybody will want to upgrade to something more sophisticated.
