I got a problem with qtile bcuse when i chose qtile in lightdm its load for 2seconds and give me back to lightdm. After install xorg pkg and drivers for my intel gpu xf86-video-intel bcuse i have intel iris xs. Why is this happen? Can you help me?

Did you install Qtile from a new Arch install from the August iso or did you revert a previous Arch installation to base? I had Qtile working with an installation from the June iso. I decided to do a fresh installation of Arch with the August iso and I can't get Qtile to open with Lightdm or from the tty with qtile start in the .xinitrc file. I also tried including exec in the .xinitrc file. Awesome WM works but not Qtile. I tried installing Arch the Arch way and I also tried installing Arch with the Anarchy installer, but Qtile won't open. I have a desktop session for Qtile in xsessions and I have the correct drivers. Everything works except Qtile. I tried with two different computers which have different video drivers, but Qtile won't open, even though it worked on both computers with the June iso. I'm wondering if there's something missing or some conflict between the Arch August iso and Qtile. Thank you. BTW, great videos.

Nice Ermanno, very nice. Qtile is my favorite WM, it's great to see you do some work on it, looking forward to the future videos. I like Qtile because it is relatively easy to install and doesn't come with loads of dependencies like Xmonad does, it also spawns windows in the way that is perfect for my workflow.

I have one question: why does qtile installation with lightdm work without having to install xorg-server?
I always have to add this package in order to make lightdm work.

Really appreciate the info on widgets, which I had not yet fully understood - thank you.
Would like to see what you may come up with once you get some python skills (ps I havent got any lol).
One thing that Awesome Wm does that Qtile Wm does not, afaik, is it puts a nice border around the active window - now Qtile does do this, but on my set-up, for reasons I don't know about, not around the chrome browser window. The active border is a nice feature becasue it shows you where you are working, but in Qtile does not show when the chrome window is selected.

BTW I think I prefer Qtile Wm becasue the documentation looks complete, and I too when I get time am trying to learn python. Also I find Awesome Wm documentation sparse as a non programer, especially becasue it lacks the examples I have been looking for.

Hello Ermanno, I'm having trouble running QTILE a few days. Doing all procedures indicated by in the video, when attempting to log in with Lightdm, I get a black screen, and I go back to the login screen. Can you help me?

Think you've sold me on Qtile now will try installing this next week on my day's off see if its any better than i3. If I create a .xprofile file will i3 use that aswell ?

As I supposed, a fulfillness and a documentation are keys to success. Qtile so far seems the most interesting tiling manager. Thank you that shared it with us.

Qtile is not for me because it uses Python, that makes it slower than dwm. The effect is not that big because it is not a big program but still, I do notice it.

JFYI: your voice volume is a bit too low in the recent videos

<3 do you use any linting for python in your vim? I ask because I get constant (non-)errors about not being able to import most modules... yet it still works. It's a linter config error (pylint but I've tried others).
