Is Diablo 4's Endgame Like THIS??

This is one of my favorite systems in Diablo 4 and I think it's more complex, and gives a lot more options, than a lot of people realize.

I finally cracked and looked at a D4 builder for druid because I wanted to make sure that a full mother dire wearbear build was possible.....I'm genuinely happy to say it is💚🙏🏿

Every system they’ve shown looks great, but I think the editor of the video or whoever was in charge of what could be shown, could have done a better job at describing the importance of basic nodes. Clearly +5 strength isn’t a thrilling thing to pick, but between glyphs and rare node requirements, choosing that +5 strength actually has a huge impact on your character. Now remember, strength isn’t just “more damage” for barb. That’s not how D4 works. Barbs might want to load up on willpower, INT, dext for certain builds. I feel like they didn’t explain that well enough. But yeah, the system looks awesome and I’m pumped for it.

I like this new paragon board system. It has much more depth than many people think. Also adding new boards has ability to increase build variety, make some builds more viable etc... 😊

Me and my friends noticed something about any D4 concerns, especially the Paragon board. When we see something like "10% Fire Resistance," we get extremely excited. Why? Because we play Hardcore mode only. You have to build defensively while building towards dmg as you progress.

Every complaint we've seen so far, doesn't pertain to us, all because of Hardcore mode, and the beta, far exceeded our expectations! Anyone who gets to play this game is blessed as far as I'm concerned.

Honestly I don't really know what people were expecting from D4's endgame to be so negative about it. We've got the typical random endgame dungeon system, various overworld content that'll encourage you to move around the map, and (optional) PvP areas. For an ARPG I don't know what more you really want from an endgame. D4 is not an MMO, so having raids like Lost Ark isn't really applicable and most people would be outright against it anyway given all the side effects that come with it (time-gating, fomo, gatekeeping, waiting in party finder, pug toxicity etc). The only things I can even think of that other ARPGs have that might be suitable for Diablo would be something like the Crucible in Grim Dawn (a form of wave defense against increasingly difficult enemies), or the Guardian Raids in Lost Ark (a bit more mechanically complex boss encounters that are still designed to be soloable)

I suspect also that since this is a light mmo, the stats on a character might have more effect on how a character plays. For example, a Barb thats specced alot into strength in the paragon board might get a huge boon in certain areas compared to a barb who didnt.

I don't know about this.... with this systems glyphs are basically the most powerful items in the game, and they can drop new insane glyphs each season... and these glyphs can do nothing and everything at the same time, blizzard can even use them to completely change builds and rebalance classes. It is the door through which they gonna break that game in the long run.

I like the idea of the board just the hard cap of 200 points is gonna end the replayability of the game.

Sure you can optimize your build and make a new seasons charter every season there seems to be no real insensitive to keep going unlike D3 where gaining an extra 100 paragon lvls means a few seconds shaved off your 150 time. Also I know PvP is attempting to be a thing in D4 but any build meta is going to be based on DPS and fastest clear times not who can tank the most damage.

I'm reserving final judgment until I actually get to the end game, unlock Paragon Boards and play (a lot).

No one who is paying attention would think paragon boards only contain Normal Nodes. I'm not sure what people are complaining about, is five stat points per Normal node too low? Maybe it is, we'll see. Even if it is, considering everything else in the game, is that a reason to not play? I for one, will be definitely be playing the game! I like what I see so far and even if five stat points is weak, it's not nothing and it's not the only thing.

I thought you did a good job of explaining this the first time around. Paragon boards are somewhat similar to PoE builds, which are fine. From what I saw, the base stats in D4 are pretty weak, but the higher rarity tiles might be very worthwhile.

People seem to complain about things they don't know. Complain when they don't understand

This feels like a smarter, deeper, and overall more satisfying version of what we all ended up doing in Diablo 2.

"As for the build, add as much STR as you need to equip your gear then literally the rest of your stat points go into VIT"

For nearly every build.
So the optimization route was
Rings+Ammy+Torch+Anni+GC/SC's
count your deficit STR to equip your next
wep/armor piece, STR spent to equip, etc, etc until you can wear all your pieces.
Dump 200+ points into VIT.

That, right there, is the hallowed benchmark that all ARPGs are compared.
So I think the Paragon board is a better stat system that also includes jewels...er..glyphs.

The big thing I'm worried about is people will just copy the best build and there is no variety. Which absolutely tons of people do, and that's not fun all the time.

As far as my understanding, legendary node is like Poe 2 ascendancy points, or one real ascendancy point. Poe shit just make no ass sense to have minor nodes in ascendancy tree.

I am not sure how powerful is one extra imbue charge on rogue, it’s one of the first legendary nodes.

well if you ignore the legend node in the middle and like 3-4 glyph slots per board, 95% of the paragon is what we saw and all paragon boards are likewise. The legend node itself is something extremely simple increase%dmg. All that is remaining that we don't know is about are the glyphs slot. Now, will the glyphs save the lacking skill tree that we have and the redondant paragon board stats, that remains to be seen.

The once that dislike the paragon board, i'm guessing they didn't play D3 cuz its the same thing, just with another look, when you got a paragon point in d3, you did put it in your main stat tab or what you call it and it gave +5 for each point so I think this is just fine, get some small buffs first and work your way to the better buffs. Looking forward to D4 :)
PS: this paragon board might be in d1 or 2 aswell, did not play that FYI :)

the rare and legendary tiles still dont do anything extra or cool... no cool new animations .. its just more stat sticks.... pretty stupid.. even immortals paragon board is better.. "legendaries tiles" need to do something way better.. make ur call of ancients make 6 ancients or something like that or they explode when they leave.. something epic.. not just more DMG...

Dont let the trolls get to you, Diablo 4 will be fun, will it last? That depends on if the game resets completely or keeps going with expansions ... I am thinking expansions will be better than seasonal

The funiest thing is that ppl cried like hell that we have not stats to assign like D1 +2. So, now, we have the Board where we can make choises, skill as we want and again, it is not good enough. Man...what gaming ppl these days p** me off big time. I simply do not understand gamers anymore. And on top, it is just the "Base" for the Game, the Release. Not speak about the Glyphs and whatnot....i "i" could switch off the inet with his opinions....i would...and we would just "play" cause we want to play....

The double standards people have for diablo when it is doing the same thing with builder nodes like path of exile is crazy, mfs are literally complaining and screaming about a game that isn't even out in its full presentation yet.
