If I was in charge I'd be organising the biggest ballroom party like they had in 1903. Wearing traditional 1600 style costumes and all the coloured bling jewelry. Organise an orchestra, band players, advertise and start selling tickets for anyone who would like to attend the ball. Make it an annual event. It would be a great night out for anyone and everyone. Bring the palace to life.

I visited in August 1964 as a 13-year old schoolboy (just two months before Nikita Khrushchev was deposed as General Secretary). It is impossible to describe the feelings I had of being in such an awe-inspiring building.

I was there in 1996 and brought back some lovely memories hope to return some day, and great to see a portrait of an Irish man in the winter Palace 😀

Beautiful! Would love to visit in person one day

I've seen pictures of the museum at least a hundred times and I'm always in awe of its beautiful rooms and art pieces. I hope to someday see the museum in person, even though it's become so familiar to me through the footage I've seen of it online, knowing that I'd be left speechless if I was there in the flesh. Honestly I think if I could spend my whole life there, I would never tire of those rooms.
