I'm so serious before I read each new text I have to respond to the prompt asking me do I want to turn it on for that recipient.

When using the Samsung Galaxy S10 messages app, when going into settings and more settings of the overall app, it is easy to interpret what is going on. However, the problem I'm finding is in the end individual text settings. To be more specific, if you are texting someone, there are the three dot hamburgers to the upper right corner. When you click it it can say either "Don't Send Read Confirmation" , or it will say "Send Read Confirmation". The problem is there is no written documentation to follow and understanding exactly what this means. If either statement is present, does this infer the current status of read confirmation. Again, to be more specific, if it says "Send Read Confirmation", Is this the current state of the text setting for the individual you are texting. Please help. Samsung has been remiss for years on this, and no clarification can be found.

Nice tip and I turned them off, just have a question, on every single text in the settings it says don't send read confirmation or send read confirmation, what should I have those on if I don't want anyone getting read confirmation? And will they stay off if I have the main one off? Thanks

Anyone else turn these off but still able to see when others have read your messages? It also alerts me when fellow android users are typing. I do not want to see any of this and would love to turn it off completely!
