Like it but for me better to save for a Sinn or better still a Damasko. If you want a proper pilots watch get a Laco 1925 for the same price or cheaper! Well spotted on the QC issues too.

I had an issue with one of their clocks, & they replaced no questions asked.

Lots of aviation watches are large, like you said at start. Look at Stowa & others, huge. As for QA, watched lots of vids of QA problems even on Rolexes. In fact, commented to poster to be careful 'rolex fans will attack you for your 'Un approved opinion.' . I see lots of watches people like, but are too thick for my tastes, but I see that as personal taste, not a flaw, since the watch is designed to be that thick. One example is a Tudor Black bay. Seems too thick for me, but I don't rag it for that. Even people who like huge watches. Not for me, but if thats what they want, & if there is enough people that want that, I expect some companies to fill that consumer want. Thats how the marketplace is supposed to work.

It's great to get an unbiased review. Interesting watch, shame it had a few issues.

Good on you for still being honest about the watch, TGV. Still a win-win for everyone. Trintec gets more exposure, and since I'm pretty sure they're watching, they'll pay more attention to QC and these sorts of things.

Hi TGV, I’ve had my eye on this piece for awhile and was keen to buy. Rather than put me off, it’s enthused me more. Shame about the QC and the date window. I was looking for an affordable watch that had a Sinn/ Damasko aesthetic. Not sure now whether to save up more now for one of those instead. Keep up the great work!

Tearing my hair out here lads! I want an affordable, Submariner style watch but I want something with some pedigree. Looking at Squale 1545, Glycine Combat Sub and an NTH, of one kind or another. I already have a Squale 1521, so I'd prefer to mix it up a bit more. But the Squale looks the best in my opinion. Any ideas? Racking my brains here a bit. Thanks!

I don't know anything about watches, but I have learnt to wear one on my wrist after wearing activity strap. I have Casio G-Shock DW-9052 witch is very bulky and I am looking to buy better everyday watch. I saw Swiss Military by Chrono SM34012.04 and I'm thinking is it worth to buy, cause it's costing around 400€ here in Finland where I live.

Tristano, an incredible watch in my opinion is the Geckota K1 L03 (or K1 series, I own the K1 L03). It is an aviation watch. The quality is incredible! AR sapphire crystal, NH35 automatic movement, hackable, 40mm with 45mm lug to lug and a very nice leather strap. It is also 100 meters resistant and surprisingly has a screw down crown. Copying your words, I’m over the moon. It’s price is slightly above 200 euros so maybe in dollars below or around 200.

Was considering picking up a roue watch(the cronograph). Anyone have any knowledge as to their quality and all that?

I'm curious if you have come across another Canadian brand of watch called Momentum? They are based out of Vancouver and were once known as St. Moritz. They make good divers and seem to be well priced.

I have never been a PVD fan, it always looks bad at some point. Trintec also has a GMT in about the same price range ( I assume it must be quartz ). That is sad to hear about the QC issues, but Seiko has had awful QC for years. I am almost shocked when they gets a chapter ring properly aligned. I just saw a SPB053 that the index markers on the dial were misapplied and the 5 through 9 markers were all about a minute short. For a $150 watch, I get it, but not a $700 watch. Orient is one of the few bargain brands I never hear people talk about QC issues with.

Once Again, another stellar watch review from another watch brand I had never heard of. Trintec. And yes their style reminds of of Sinn watches but a lot less expensive. And made in Canada where I am from. For the most part, Trintec watches are great value if you don't want to spend on money on a German made Sinn. You are still getting that Pilot watch look and feel. QC is not perfect and I am sure Trintec will take note of your review and correct these flaws. But for the price, it can't be beat.

I have this watch and it has served me well. Super accurate and a good looking tactical alternative to cheap quartz watches.

it is unfortunate that you received a less than perfect example. I just received my Trintec Nav 1 with a bare bead-blasted stainless steel case; not the PVD coated one. I generally don't like PVD or gold plated watches. I am quite enjoying mine.. Yes, this watch has a quartz Miyota OS-20 movement but I feel the quality of the watch is outstanding. Maybe because I am Canadian. I just thing they are unique and stand alone. These existed before the over-priced Bell and Ross incarnations. Bell and Ross. are over-priced "homages" to Ttintec? Go figure.
