Spider man dlc enemies where such a refreshing thing even against all the abilities
ОтветитьA sad but true fact is that historically an extremely large portion of a games fans will not interact with DLC’s. Devs have noticed this over the decades
ОтветитьWell here's the thing, if someone would not have played the base game on its own but then found interest when the dlc was released, they're now going to buy both the base game AND the dlc rather than if it was a 2nd full price game, they would only buy the second and most recent game
ОтветитьPeople say they want a Bloodborne II but no sequel will ever be as good as the Old Hunters.
ОтветитьFor those unaware the Witcher III DLCs are why the game sits on top of most Best Games of century lists.
ОтветитьNo mention of Fallout: New Vegas here???
ОтветитьBold of you not to mention paradox in a talk on dlc
ОтветитьMy absolute favorite DLC is outer wilds: echos of the eye. It expands upon the themes of the first game and opens up an entirely new strategies
Ответитьgrapes
ОтветитьAdding to the thoughts on totk a year later. For me it felt like everything botw should have been during the first hours. But then I loved botw every minute that I played it. Even though totk felt super impressive at first I still haven't finished it, because my main attraction – the exploration felt a lot less fun this time around. Seeing what changed at death mountain or Zora's domain was fun for about five minutes, whereas getting to those regions in botw held my interest for hours.
Being someone who loved Elden Ring, but will never replay it, totk felt a bit like replaying botw with a new character.
I think one thing I like about Soulsborne DLC (and the reason the Scadutree system in Elden Ring rubbed me the wrong way) is that you are meant to play the DLC when your build has crystallized. You don’t have to focus as much on the tedium of upgrades or watch your Souls to see if you have enough for a level. You can just play and have fun! Sure your character can continue to progress, but the thing holding you back is largely yourself. It takes away a lot of the guess work of approaching a boss or area.
ОтветитьOuter wilds is chef's kiss
ОтветитьIt certainly can be.
ОтветитьYou should show the name of the games on screen as they come up.
ОтветитьNgl I usually love the DLCs more than the main game
ОтветитьNothing beats Tiny Tinas Assault on Dragon Keep for Borderlands 2, it was by far the best DLC period, so much so that they had to create a full game based just from that
ОтветитьTo me Witcher 3 DLCs are both the worst and the best content out there. Heart of Stone feels like it is for a totally different genre, story and game, trying so hard to be cool. It was like a sore thumb (expect the parts with Shani). O'Dimm is one of the worst written villains to my opinion, he reminds me of DND self insert characters that are overpowered, try to be so cool and mysterious that it is cringe. The only reason I got through the DLC was thanks to my friend. It also retroactively made the opening of the game worse since they just had to have the helpful stranger turn out to be this mysterious villain.
Blood and Wine on the other hand feels like Witcher despite it being set in a different area and culture than the main game. It is one of the best parts of the game so far.
Outside of Witcher the most glaring problem of DLCs is that they feel like separate experience. There are things that remind you that "This is part of the game you paid more to be able to play". There is obvious notifications or really heavy handed guiding to the DLC content etc. and it takes people out of the experience (at least when it comes to starting the main game with the DLC already purchased).
I wish they would have kept making these, like Hearts of Stone specifically. I wouldn't expect them to keep adding entirely new regions (and while Hearts of Stone did expand the original map, it wasn't like a completely new region, etc). But, given the entire concept of The Witcher, I would have loved to continue on with more small-scale, 6-10 hour stories that have nothing to do with each other, much like Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine did. Even if they started only releasing 1-2 a year, it would have been so amazing to continue expanding on the game's world.
ОтветитьI think the "glorified DLC" complaint is MUCH fairer for a game like Tears of the Kingdom, where the sense of discovery just didn't hit the same due to the shared map.
ОтветитьIt’s mostly more content of the gaming industry
ОтветитьI was quite disappointed that TotK, one of my favorite games ever, likely won't get any DLC
ОтветитьSpider-Man 2 dlc hasn’t come out yet after almost a year. Nobodies gonna end up playing that shit 😂
ОтветитьBlood & Wine is probably my single favorite piece of media ever.
Skipping the Witcher 3 expansions would’ve been actually criminal.
Make Zelda botw multiplayer where you can choose which character you play as and players have to kill eachother
ОтветитьI think of it like a video game. Developers are gaining experience and leveling up while they develop the game. Releasing the game, is them beating their game. Then the DLC is them, max level, with everything unlocked. DLC is NG+ for them.
ОтветитьI know this video was put out a year ago so you'll probably not see this comment but what about GTA5!?!?! Sure it might all be in order to sell shark cards but the Multiplayer content download is bigger than the base game now, or at least that's how it feels
ОтветитьNo.
ОтветитьThe novrebirst dlc (i rhink tahts its name) and Sams Story are so fucking good and elevate metro exodus'es combat and Story telling by a mile
Ответитьshadow of the erdtree is hopfully good
ОтветитьI struggled with DLCs lately. I always play DLCs, when I get the game later on as a complete edition. But very often never play them, when I get the game on release. I dislike replaying games, because there are so many good games and my time is limited. Getting back into a game I already finished playing a DLC that is mostly based after the game is too annoying. So I'm thinking of never again get a game on release and always wait 1-2 years til there is a complete edition.
ОтветитьI get the feeling the nebula content is the DLC lol
ОтветитьIf a dlc has to be better, the game wasn't good enough
Ответитьcyperpunk dlc makes waves these days
ОтветитьYeah, horse armour changed my life
ОтветитьDid the heaets of stone frog for the first time on deathmarch ng+. It really tested me on my knowledge of base game mechanics. I honestly didnt expect it to be so tough, even considering i was on deathmarch, because it was so early in the dlc.
ОтветитьThe Citadel DLC from Mass Effect 3 is still a favorite of mine. It’s complete fan service but it just does it well for me.
Ответитьif anyone has the nebula subscription and has watched the tierlist video can you please tell me what he ranked crosscode’s dlc as?
ОтветитьEpisodic gaming. We need episodic gaming. It makes no sense to dispose of the base game as often as we do. I am rarely done with the characters and settings
ОтветитьAnyone know what lvl I can start the Witcher 3 dlc's? I found the base game kind of exhausting too. Never played the dlc because of it.
ОтветитьBlood and wine is IMMACULATE
ОтветитьLight fall has entered the chat. No
ОтветитьFinal Fantasy VII Remake: Intermission DLC was my game of the year when it came out. It went above and beyond in many ways for me and it was a thrill getting to see how the dev team is progressing and evolving the game between Remake and it's sequel, Rebirth.
ОтветитьBloodborne dlc was pretty dope and great expansion of the lore
ОтветитьDLC should be the cherry on the top of a delicious cake, however stay vigilant cause said cake and cherry can still be spoiled or rotten.
ОтветитьBorderlands 2 DLC at this point required to have the full experience with all of the new and overpowered guns that help you greatly in the late game.
ОтветитьI have to say that u love your videos. The only thing I think that could really be nice is that if you would add the names of the games that you show, they all look cool, but I don't know how to find them 😅
