I was so looking forward to this. THE WRONG VIDEO!!!!!! WHERES TINA??????
ОтветитьThe original studio version is worth a listen. This is an awesome rendition but still prefer the original full band version.
ОтветитьTry watching this when they play it on a show where many bands played called " The Old Grey Whistle Test ". You can see : Clapton - Bob Marley and many more.
ОтветитьThe one you just watched is from " Stop Making Sense " movie. But watch the show : The Old Grey Whistle Test 👍 🎸
ОтветитьAwesome drum track, it was a break beat that was used a lot by dj's and early hip hop artist
ОтветитьHas anyone mentioned that the married bass player and drummer created and performed the most sampled song in music history with Genius of Love by the Tom Tom Club yet?
ОтветитьFirst heard this on Saturday night Live
ОтветитьI feel like Cillian Murphy could play him in a film. They look vaguely similar.
ОтветитьWould love to see more of them on your channel. My dad used to play "Burning down the house" on our road trips when my siblings and I were little. It was a lot of fun. :) Good times...
ОтветитьI can’t stop laughing. I grew up with this band and. Wow.
ОтветитьCr 78.
ОтветитьGuys you REALLY need to watch the whole movie, it's deranged and funky as fuck
ОтветитьThere are only 2 live recordings I would ever recommend over the studio versions any band has released. This is the only one of those 2 where every single live version from these concerts/this film are better than the studio. "The Last Waltz" has several better versions. And some not as good. This line-up with Bernie Worrell, Alex "Reason I Personally Picked Up A Guitar" Weir, Ruth, Edna and Steve allowed for arrangements that couldn't have existed before and haven't existed since. Favorite era for my favorite band. I don't really do nostalgia. Tend to lose interest in music once I know it well enough to sing or hum along. But Talking Heads is a band I have returned to for like 38 of my 50 years.
ОтветитьTalking heads are one of the greatest American bands ever……this song was sort of a novelty in their catalog. They were a full band, this was a concert film and started with just him and this song
ОтветитьStop Making Sense is a documentary film made by Jonathan Demme, the director who did Silence of the Lambs. It's considered one of the best ever made. The first 5 or so songs a new piece of equipment and band member joins the production until the band is complete. It's an absolutely amazing piece of film making and a stunning concert. Highly recommended.
ОтветитьThis is not 😊the correct version of this song, sorry.
ОтветитьBest ever concert on film
ОтветитьPlease react to the entire show. It is amazing. David Byrne is a trip, and puts on a fabulous show.
ОтветитьI am sure that it will be said many times in the comments but I will say it again. If you have not watched the film "Stop Making Sense" do yourself a favour and watch it uninterpreted start to finish . The musical, cultural; and artistic importance of this film can not be overstated. Everything about this concert film is pure genius. It is a musical and artistic masterpiece that people far into the future will be viewing and analyzing.
ОтветитьYou really really need to continue down this 'Stop Making Sense' movie concert. One of the greatest concert movies ever made... No joke. Funk, R&B, Rock, its all right there for ya. Goes in hard. With front man David Byrne putting on a one of a kind, once in a lifetime performance.
Check out
"Life During Wartime" from this amazing concert film next.
one of the greatest bands of all time.
ОтветитьThat whole concert is a masterpiece.
ОтветитьTalking Heads was a group. That was David Byrne. The movie was of this concert. The concert movie is called "Stop Making Sense".
ОтветитьTalking Heads: 77
ОтветитьTalking Heads and The Thompson Twins have always stuck together in my head & heart as favorites!🔴
ОтветитьBurning Down the House please. David also made movie with John Goodman called True Stories that is a work of art 🎉❤
ОтветитьY'all never disappoint in your reactions!!! Thanks Gents!
ОтветитьIt's a concert movie. This is the opening song. You can see their bass player Tina Weymouth take to the stage at the end. A new band member come on stage for each song. Pretty good concert if you haven't seen it before. Well worth a watch.
ОтветитьI may be a Deadhead and been to over 70 great shows, but after seeing this whole concert (my new boyfriend had it on disc) and had to say it was probably one of the best performances I've ever seen.
STOP MAKING SENSE!
Watch the whole movie brothers. It will leave you speechless.
Ответитьhe revealed on on the conan o'brien podcast recently that this was the 2nd song he ever wrote. bonkers.
ОтветитьWhen you know the fu fu fu fu fu fu fu is the sound of the knife going in a body...
ОтветитьA great NYC band that honed their craft at the great club like so many great NYC bands at CBGB's
ОтветитьLife During Wartime next
ОтветитьAgree that this is probably the BEST live performance of a band EVER MADE. And Talking Heads are awesome to begin with! You really must see this show!
ОтветитьBurning Down the House!
ОтветитьWhen I think of art, and music, I think of talking heads.
Ответить"I hate people when they're not polite" is the most chilling line
ОтветитьThis is my jam
ОтветитьPlease react to the entire “Stop Making Sense” video. So good. Also live in Rio born under punches. Love you guys!
ОтветитьThis is NOT GOOD. You have to listen to the studio version.
This doesn’t work.
What do you did is like if you listened to John Lennon sing “A day in the Life” acoustically .
You need a whole band studio version with this song or it’s not representative of the song.
Very original, new wave band. watch more from this performance!
ОтветитьPure genius.
ОтветитьWhen are you guys coming back for more Talking Heads?
ОтветитьThis concert-film is great - saw it at the cinema last year!
ОтветитьQue’est-ce que c’est?
(What is it?)
Ce que j’ai fais, ce soir la. Ce qu’elle a dit, ce soir la.
(What I did, that night. What she said that night.)
Réalisant mon espoir, Je me lance vers la gloire.
(Realizing my power, I throw myself towards glory.)
No matter what people look like we all have very cool things we do ! This guy is something else man !
Ответитьorginal version is way better check it out
ОтветитьNo thank you
ОтветитьSeriously.... Did Coke really pay someone money to make that "Whatever floats your boat" ad? :0/
