Yellow was very low threat and very low speed and I find it hard to believe they have ever won a game, they will generally come second is my bet.

Damn shame there's no 'save the board' option so other people can play the extreme config's. Airline pilots fly simulations of disasters, and honestly I can't see getting away with that cap being anywhere near the average outcome. Hardly ever does the board let anyone hold +8 in territories from move one. What are the odds on that alone? And yellow sooo slooow to take his primary bonus and never moved into his secondary. Like I said, pity there's no option to save the board and let others try it out.

I had a mid cap choke like that one time and it was so OP. The early and mid game i barely survived bc nobody let me have anything, but i made it to the three player ending as i was the deciding factor in who i wanted to card block. The 2nd place guy targeted me all game and would only work with the other remaining player so naturally i still didnt win. But while i had that guy utterly card blocked and suffocated on his side of the map it was so glorious. He started card skipping and you could see him realize over a series of turns the mistake he made 2 hours earlier by just ramming troops into me incessantly. It was one of those games where you question if it was collab or not.

Assuming it was a fair game, I tried to work with him but he was too dumb to see ahead to when he would need me in the 3 player scenario. That's the thing with weaker players is they cant see deep into the game and anticipate certain scenarios. So, naturally, he lost, dragging me down with him. He slammed all his troops into me at the end and bc of the turn order the other player cap ran so I didnt even get to claim 2nd. I think about that game bc i wonder what i could've done differently but there really was no option for me, i was just targeted. But i still remember that game for how epic my cap was.

Awesome game and phenomenal cap! This was much more fun to watch than the drama that is election night tonight.

Strategy question. Why did you not expand from your cap location and go to the bottom section?

Ive been curious, is it possible for the entire map to not be accessible due to blizzards?

Like in this scenario, all that needed to happen was one blizzard where you capped, is that possible? Can the board be entirely split by blizzards?

My inconsequential 2cents on SA position. Playing it with a stack in Asia is good, but easily punished much like the Australian position. If you keep nothing in SA you can be cleaned and stuck in Asia by two players. If you keep too much in SA, ANY other player can clean you from Asia and force you to skip or break. If you keep a mostly even split of troops in both then you can still get smacked out of one and stuck in the other. So while it is the best good neighbor option, it does leave you very suseptible to being the next progression of the board state.

why is it not a good idea to go for the edge of the board as a starting strategy?

I would have broken one of the purple ones on italy fairly early on just to see if he instantly retakes which would indicate a hold on the bottom of splitaly.

I don't think yellow deserves higher placement, he does not deserve it playing so slow like that, it did hand you the game but it's was just terrible to witness

Yellow didn't bot out but he didn't actually do much to earn 3rd much less 2nd. Purple may have botted out but, before that, they were active. I get that cap stack and pass is a tactic but you do it when circumstances call for it. Yellow had better options.

No need to give yellow higher placement - they did nothing the whole game. Purple may have botted out at the very end, but at least they were helping to progress the game while it mattered while yellow did nothing.
