ОтветитьYou could do split squats too. The ATG guy recommends this and you also feel it in the glutes.

ОтветитьMy physical therapist was having me do that banded side walk and it was not only difficult for me to do, but had no effect toward improvement. I refused to continue allowing them to have me do that. It wasn't helpful for me and seemed to be wasting time with my alloted recovery sessions.

ОтветитьA lot of people do banded exercises for their glutes because half kneeling to stand is incredibly challenging for half the population, especially if they are in pain….that being said it’s a beautiful option for the other half of the population. But imagine you have an ACL tear post surgical doing rehab? Or spinal fusion? This wouldn’t be useful for months….hence why people use the bands. And majority of our seniors basically can’t do half kneel to stand, or else they prolly wouldn’t be in PT in the first place.
ОтветитьTechnique was off in the banded walks - teaches hip stability. Hip stability is another important factor for glute activation.

ОтветитьIt’s really hard to push myself up using the bending front leg. My knee hurts before I even try. It feels like the glute is stretching pretty deep on that side tho. May be something I need to work up to doing.
