Next to the arc clones Rex was the best clone in the entire army.

Supposedly, Anakin was the one who welded everything together, as shown in Season 7 with the whole Padmé conversation.

Idk if any one said this already but Gen 1 clone Armour held up better against blaster fire than Gen 2

Rex was always one of my favourite character when I was a kid, his armour is awesome

It would have been smart if the scientists of Kamino took in Rexs hybrid armour design and functionality and started to manufacture the armour of the clones in the same way, therefore enhancing their mover ability and combat performance

The jedi loved it because it was being creative, and thinking. The jedi tried to encourage the clones being different, more human than program, and so it would have been a big step, and a good step in their eyes.

However, when order 66 came you could clearly tell who was killing you, even from a while away

Part of me wants to think Rex didn't want to completely throw out the armor he had fought and lost brothers in. He wanted to remember so he combined the 2 phases to fall in with regulation but also didn't want to ditch the phase 1 entirely

I have no idea if the Clone Troopers received "pay" or not, but practically every soldier since the dawn of man has modified his field kit to meet his particular needs. This might mean tailoring the uniform for a better fit or changing the material used to make it. You might change out your combat knife. You might even smuggle in a superior weapon to the one you were issued. And it is almost a given that you will supplement your standard issue with other items you find appropriate for use in the field.

What the producers of this show didn't want to do was to have to design multiple armor sets as clones began to show some flare for art or just general modifications for their basic needs.

And if the troopers weren't paid, it is almost a given that a black market of clone trooper equipment would sprout up. if you didn't like the food, you are going to supplement your income so you can get something you enjoy eating. Your bunk not comfortable, you going to find a way to get a better mattress. Your armor rubbing you the wrong way (quite literally) you either going to modify the armor you are are going to straight out replace it.

"was uncomfortable for some of the clones" isn't the point of clones that if it's uncomfortable for someone it's uncomfortable for everyone

I'm no clone but I would follow Captain Rex in any battle during the clone wars. Accept, maybe Jabrin or Umbara. Those were pretty intense.
