Garlic is a fun and unique crop to grow. Unlike most annual vegetables, it is planted in the fall and harvested in the early summer. A tasty byproduct of a hardneck garlic crop are the garlic scapes - the flowering stalks of the garlic plant. These are removed to help the plant produce larger bulbs, but can be eaten if you just can't wait for the garlic to mature!
