I love how King of the Hill was more down-home, but still had some of the satire of Beavis and Butthead. Mike Judge is a genius.
ОтветитьI knew I heard chris rock😂
ОтветитьHank has something most conservatives dont have these days. He has the ability to open his mind.
ОтветитьThis show was always a gem. Modern day shows are inept at this.
ОтветитьIt just occurred to me that King of the Hill was like an updated version of All in the Family, set in Texas.
ОтветитьWhat doesn't make sense to me is that white racism is the only one that matters. Poor white people are the lowest class of person in this country because they're the only group held to behavioral standards while still having "privilege." They're also last on the totem pole for hiring because companies will do anything to prove they're not racist.
ОтветитьHank looks like my dad if he wore his glasses and shaved 😂
ОтветитьHank was an old school (as in pre Tea Party and MAGA) republican in every sense of the word, but to his credit Lady Bird is named after LBJ's wife. And he loved Lady Bird at least as much as he loved Peggy.
ОтветитьAs a latin american leftist (or what some folks in the US would say, a "far left extremist") I can confiently say Hank is as lovely as a character can get
Ответить“No he ain’t… He’s Laotian, ain’t that right Mr. Kahn?”
Hank’s dad is accurately be racist💀
Season 14 of "King of the Hill," a revival series, will premiere on Hulu on August 4, 2025. The season will consist of 10 episodes, and it will drop in its entirety. The series will pick up several years after the events of the previous season, with Hank and Peggy Hill returning to Arlen, Texas after years of working in Saudi Arabia, and Bobby now a 21-year-old chef in Dallas.
Ответитьwhos here after the revival announcment
ОтветитьComing here bc of recent news but amazing video man, I genuinely loved this show as a kid and still do.
Ответить"So are ya chinese or japanese?"
Everyone is racist. You don't have to be a white supremacist to be racist.
"'King of the Hill' actor shot dead in Texas"
am i getting these cause fo that
Hank is a person who values tradition, respect, and intentions. A lot of the time, once he learns that there’s a good reason behind something, he is usually actually very accepting and interested.
Ответитьthe best thing about king of the hill is the people the show is making fun of are too dumb to realize. They think its a bastion of conservative ideals but its just making fun of them. Its exactly the same as racists loving Blazing Saddles. They are too stupid to realize THEY ARE the joke.
ОтветитьSEASON 14 BABY!!!!!!!
ОтветитьWith all the racial disparities, racial inequality, racial segregation, etc. in this country somehow Americans just can’t seem to find the racist anywhere. Lol
ОтветитьLaos. its right next to vietnam. they caught a ton of bombing during the vietnam war. DUMMY
ОтветитьThe funniest joke was when cotton met khan and knew just by looking at him he was Laotian when everybody else kept getting it wrong
ОтветитьGuess what's coming back...
Ответить"Blame the Lutherans"
ОтветитьCalling Hank Hill a redneck is so insane to me 😂 Nothing about that man is redneck- he lives in a frikkin suburb!
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьKOTH was one of the best shows ever. But it became popular to dump on the show and call it boring. Smart comedies often struggle.
ОтветитьI disagree with the syrup. Literally was a racist stereotype character, even if it’s history was long forgotten it obviously must’ve been known by people in the company that their mascot was a racist caricature
ОтветитьHank is a economical conservative not a social conservative. he's willing to change his opinions on most of his social ideals in light of facts and experiences.
Ответитьthey should not just call the syrup aunt jemima bro 😅 you want mammy sausage and uncle tom oj to go with it? cuz they're all racist vaudeville character names. aint your mama. aka how black women were forced to be the wet nurses for their owners to the detriment of their own babies. yeah they only changed it for their reputation but yeah i definitely prefer not to see a cutesified reminder of slavery and the subsequent mockery of slavery while I'm trying to eat breakfast 😅
ОтветитьMy favorite racist joke in the show was how Hanks dad, who was very racist, was the only one who actually knew that Mr Kahn was Laotian (this joke has layers considering during WW2 the US gave out pamphlets to soldiers to “help” them differentiate people from different Asian countries so they wouldn’t kill any allies)
ОтветитьI thought "Racist Dawg" was a terrible episode. it's basically anti-white propaganda wrapped up in a somewhat entertaining package. Mack the black repairman has been going to the same church as Hank for years. He'd have already known whether Hank was racist or not. Accusing the dog of being racist is an absolutely ridiculous idea. At best it would be a joke that Hank and Mack would laugh about together later, and at worst it would reveal that Mack was the racist one for immediately making that accusation. Reality is, a repairman would just refuse to do the job until the dog was restrained. After this, we're being taught that white people should feel absolutely horrible about even possibly being racist, and terrified about the consequences of being seen as racist. Hank is willing to humiliate himself in an effort to prove he's not racist. First by taking a racist test, designed by a black person, to be given to whites to see if they are racist towards non-whites. Second, by playing with dolls. We also see Hank being publicly shamed in Church, and accosted by an angry mob at his house. Perhaps the worst part of all of it, is his own wife turns on him because she would rather join the mob and virtue signal about not being racist, than support the man she's lived with for years. (who she'd also know already was not racist) And all of this happens because of a ridiculous false accusation. So in review, white people are being taught that being accused of racism, is a crime so severe that you will lose your dignity, reputation, friends and even your wife over. While it's acceptable for non-whites to be racist towards whites, and there are no consequences for false accusations. In the episode where Hank meets Khan, Khan even makes some racist comments towards Hank, but is never called out for it. I think the show does handle racism better in most of the other episodes.
ОтветитьThis was pretty cool! The subtle nuances in addressing racism, it's excellent!
ОтветитьEvery fucking zoomer says drink water. Stfu
ОтветитьA Dale and Huey conversation would end in fire..... As in they would immediately team up and go set fire to the White House. 😂
ОтветитьRacism is such a mundane thing. Most people never even notice it. Thats the insidious part it deeply affects minorities while we are oblivious to it.
ОтветитьIt's a great point. The best way for pop culture to address racism is by holding up a mirror, so you can sort of see yourself or someone you know reflected. Not by showing over-the-top racist caricatures.
ОтветитьRepublicans are completely missing the joke behind this show makes it 100x better
ОтветитьRight, but Peter Griffin IS bad.
ОтветитьI only knew about south east asia as a child because i watched too many Vietnam war TV shows
Ответить"THAT'S MY PURSE! I DON'T KNOW YOU!"
ОтветитьI love the fact that cotton of all people knew the differences, no cottons not a racist remember folks the man was willing to go awol for a Japanese nurse
ОтветитьFinally beat this guy Thanks to this video and the comments.
ОтветитьCotton recognizing Kahn as Laotian is one of my favorite callbacks. The parallel of Cotton being hateful but informed to hank's ignorant but well meaning is peak character writting.
