Completed it a bunch of times on PC, and then this year on PS3 lol. Im a strange man who likes this game. O'Neil is a legend 🤣 I give this game 8/10 for being so bad its charming.

The developers over at Cold Iron Studios definitely used Aliens: Colonial Marines as both a reference point and a motivation in making Aliens: Fireteam Elite a much better sci-fi horror action experience like Aliens.

The whole cancer thing is even more uncomfortable when you remember that John Hurt, the first person to be chest bursted in an Alien movie, actually died of cancer in 2017 (to be fair to them, this game came out a few years before he was diagnosed but still... Eugh)

In Colonial Marines, only the first phase is really good and deceives the player because it is so excellent...maybe the phase with the explosive aliens in the sewer. I played the game years ago and personally, it's not that bad, but the parts about facing human soldiers are a pain

Not only conned the legendary Syd Mead into doing concept art for this game they also nearly bankrupted Obsidian by getting their their Aliens RPG canceled mid-production. Seeing as tho this is Obsidian at the peak of their powers, they also robbed the people of a probable classic

Here I am in the year 2024, almost 2025, thinking - has it been long enough? Has it been long enough to make a new Colonial Marines game, except good, and act like nothing happened?
Who could develop such a game, cause I have no idea who own the rights anymore. I'm thinking Teyon, the great redemption story of the games industry. They first came to prominence with that Rambo game that everyone hated, but then they made Terminator: Resistance and RoboCop: Rogue City, two games I've heard nothing but good things about. Making a new Aliens game like a silent reboot of Colonial Marines sounds like something right up their alley.

I don't think its a three nor is it a seven. Its somewhere inbetween either a 6 or 5. Has its good moments is an alright shooter, but does a terrible job at balance, fun & doesn't stay very loyal to source material. I think when randy said it was a 7 he was refering to the AVP game that released round the same time as despite that games flaws it was a good game. If you want a good Alien game go play the original 2 AVP games the 2nd is great but near impossible to get running as its abandonware & so you need to pirate it I found it from Magipack but recently all the links went dead so I think that's a dead route so goodluck finding that game.

A better way to kill off Bella instead of super cancer, that does not wreck lore is simply this.
Have it that when the CB gets past a certain point of growth, it can sense any attempt to remove it and, like in one of the AvP games, it will flee through another path, wrecking the internal organs as it goes and thus killing the host anyway.
See, simple, easy and makes sense, no need for super black ooze xenomorph cancer to prevent removal of the parasite.

I got the game. I enjoyed it...
For what it was.
But I also got it like 3 years after it was released, and never had the huge hype due to false advertising. I knew what it was going in, decided to try it, completed it, haven't played it since. But it was fine.
