10 Nepo Parents Who Got Famous Because of Their Kids

I remember watching Hannah Montana as a child, and not recognising Billy Ray Cyrus, since I wasn't around during "Achy Breaky Heart." However, my dad sure did.

Billy Ray Cyrus was famous LONG before Miley. “Achey Breaky Heart” remains the most annoying country song EVER. UGH!

I definitely wouldn't put Miley Cyrus on this list. Everyone, even those who hated country music, knew who Billy Ray Cyrus was. She is nothing more than a negative attention seeker. She jumps on bandwagons, even changing her sexual orientation when it will propel her career further. The only reason I learned about her was when a coworker talked about a young girl on tv who sounded like a 60 year old smoker.

Some of these parents seem like they're using their kids to fulfill theyre own unfulfilled dreams. Yolanda Hadid prevented her daughter from playing volleyball, something she loved, because her body would be "too athletic" and she wouldn't be able to model. Tellung her daughters that they have a choice is one thing. The way she behaves toward them tells a whole different story. 🙁

If Billy Ray Cyrus is a nepo dad, then Ethel BarryMoore is a nepo great-aunt.

Why Selena isn't on this list is beyond me

I NEVER heard of Tina Knowles. I won’t repeat the truth already stated several times that Mr One hit wonder Achy Brakey was famous long before his daughter became famous. If it wasn’t for him Hanna Montana would not have gained fame.

There's a better name for that than "Nepo Parents". It's a trope called "Stage Mom/Dad".

OMG I can't believe how many people commented about Billy Ray Cyrus, apparently, without bothering to watch the video! They did mention the fact that Billy Ray Cyrus, and heck most of the parents here, were famous before their kids became famous, but became more well known or have resurgent in their careers because of how much more famous their kids got, its the point of the freaking video people! Sure a few parents got famous only after their kids did, but a lot of these people did become famous before their kids.

I guess there are a lot of Billy Ray Cyrus fans making these comments, they probably saw the thumbnail and that is the only reason they clicked on the video, all so they could make their rather stupid comments!

I mean I too knew that Billy Ray had been famous before her, but it's also true that a lot of people who like her, don't know that, at least the ones who grew up on her show, especially the ones who were much younger then she was when she did Hannah Montana!

And though He had more then one album, Achy Breaky Heart was his only big hit, and he did pretty much disappear a few years afterwards, at least from mainstream entertainment media, and the pop charts. He may have still done well on the country music charts, but that isn't considered as the same as the pop charts, so the only people he was popular with later were country music fans. Not saying he didn't deserve better, I don't know myself whether any of his other songs from his other albums were that good, since though I liked that song, I never even bought the album or single, I just saw him perform on talk shows, and heard the song on the radio. But I never even heard any of his other songs, though I do remember seeing him acting, I frankly thought he quit music!

Miley Cyrus' mom, Trish became famous because of Miley. Which is why she now has a podcast. All while Billy Ray Cyrus was famous way before Miley was born

Sad how Kanye's mom used so much money to get cosmetic surgery and died from it

Achy Breaky Heart aside, the album is pretty damn good.
