I wasn’t planning to read The Pallbearer’s Club because I dnf’ed The Cabin At The End Of The World. However, Kyla from booksandlala said that TPC is her favourite book of 2022 so far and so I now obviously want to give it a try since we have similar taste. She also compared it to My Heart is a Chainsaw which I’ve just finished and LOVED IT. So yeah, it’s going to happen. I’m so curious because you also enjoyed it but we don’t have similar taste that much? So probably I’m gonna either love it or hate it but now I’m excited either way 😅

I so want to read The Pallbearers Club! It sounds like my type of book. ⚰️

My reading in July was so all over the place, I had everything from 2 to 5 stars and a couple dnfs 😅 my favourites were My Heart is a Chainsaw, Death in Her Hands, The Drowning Kind, and My Lovely Wife

I had a great reading month. Read 21 books and 13 of those were 4-5 stars! ⚰️

Now I’m so interested in Exquisite Corpse. It’s been recommended to me SO many times

I had such a hard time with the pallbearers club, so I got the cabin at the end of the world, just to try something a bit different from this author. Wish me luck 💀☠️👻 ( where is the coffin??? Ahhhhh)

Whenever I can't get into a novel because of the print format, I tend to switch to the audiobook and manage to get through it that way. I might just buy the audiobook for "The Wasp Factory" straight away, rather than picking up the book first, because I have heard so much about it and need to experience it for myself.

⚰️Lovely wrap up. It's nice to see more readers DNFing some books because I'm trying to get out of that mindset where if I start a book I have to finish it. So, having the DNFs come first is encouraging

💀 I'm intrigued to pick up Any Man and Run time. I enjoyed your wrap up for July. My favorite reads for July were It Ends With Us, Jar of Hearts and Saving Noah (which wrecked me to my core.)

as a lawyer, "the perfect marriage" infuriated me and i wrote an entire rant about how the legal system actually works on goodreads. and also how virginia is a commonwealth. and also how this unreliable narrator doesn't work when it's played out like this.

Bummer no five stars but yay for lots of books read!!

I wasn't a fan of The Pallbearers Club, but that probably doesn't come as a shock because it's basically the opposite of what I like in my books, so there's that. I'm happy you and so many others enjoyed it. Where do you go to be spoiled for the ending of books?

I read The Perfect Marriage And Exquisite Corpse this month and felt very similarly to you. I will never get certain things out of my head from Exquisite Corpse, things I would have NEVER even thought about had I not read that book.

I got netgalley arcs of The Blame Game and Run Time! I am excited to read both this month hopefully

I DNF'ed The Wasp Factory too. Definitely not for me! Possibly one of the most disturbing books I've read (part of!).

Honestly I kinda wanted to DNF Kill River! It was wayyyy too long and not much happened. The kills weren’t creative or worth it either for me.
