Truck Drivers Texting While Driving Caught on Tape

It's for ALL drivers should not 've texting or talking one the phone period

It's 2022 September 3rd, texting while driving is the WORST it's been m ever been. These heartless people care more about their selfs. Until it's to late and something horrible outcomes of it.

The problem with the texting and driving epidemic is people think they are "self aware" of there "skills" ... Same goes for speeding.... Humans are selfish and despite the statistics people will still in there minds think it's somehow "okay" or "different" when they do it because... "They know what they're doing" or "They know how to drive"

It won't happen to me, really! It's not just drivers, it's people texting and walking off train platforms and in front of cars. Have we become stupid with this technology?

I guess getting killed by someone in a car texting and driving is alright

Why hasn't government do something about it

It is very funny that you just talk about truck drivers I'm sure you have many videos of people in cars and pickups doing the same thing But you don't talk about that because you're part of the problem personally And you should know it's against the law to profile

It's not JUST truckers. I am a trucker and on a daily basis I've got cars and pickups coming at me on 2 lane roads going over the center stripe looking at they're phones. Many a close call.

I told these drivers on CB to stop texting, they told me to drive my truck and they would drive their truck. These dummies kill people every day.

The question is WHY are the Texting / WHO are they texting. If it is business related the blame goes further up the chain of command.

It also needs to be that the driver is fired from the company and ordered to pay compensation to the family for damages done while being a jackass and a stupidity d jerk.

Do an investigation on all vehicles on the road, not just truckers.

In fact truck drivers, cars , just almost ever body these phone have become an addition like drugs. I mean they just can't put that phone down while driving. They are texting , talking and not paying fully attention ahead of cars. They look up and back down texting. And some get so deep into their conversation , they will run a red light or right in the back of someone. I mean just remove drug addition and say PHONE ADDITION which is true. They just cannot wait till they stop driving and not everybody but 80 percent of people's talking texting while driving . The law is going to have to come up with some form of technology about these phones , if they don't more and more people's are going to get kill from accidents .

You think the guy with 2 cell phones going at once is bad...LOL I drive a big rig and I can see into the cab of other big rigs as they drive by and alot of them have 2 cell phones and a Tablet and the tablet or extra cell is down by the gauge cluster so cops cant see it and there watching MOVIES and TV shows while there passing me down the highway..

Should be mandatory loss of license for a MINIMUM of 5 years and a year in prison!!! And that 5 year revocation starts from when he’s released from prison!!!

This is definitely a problem. But it really is a small percentage of truck drivers. 1 IS too many. Having said that, I'm a long distance truck driver. I've been in all 48 states. I can honestly say, I can't remember 1 hour of driving in the last 10 years, I didn't see 10 people driving personal vehicles while doing something on their phones. I'm not including talking. I'm only including typing or reading. Both are much more dangerous than talking. I've used bluetooth headsets for a very long time. And wired headsets before that. Even with a headset, I won't talk on the phone in traffic or bad weather.

I see it all day when I am on the road. Every 3rd of 4th vehicle has the driver talking or texting on their phones. Get the police out of the dang parking lots chilling and pull those dang drivers over!!

What about cops being on the phone, driving faster than the speed limit not responding to an accident or a emergency but I guess they're privileged ?

Georgia had a law that prohibits texting while driving since 7/1/2010 but the law didn't have alot of effect. Georgia passed the hands-free law on 3/29/2018. Ex governor, Nathan Deal signed the bill on 5/2/2018 and the law went into effect on July 1, 2018. The law states that you cannot hold your phone up to your ear to talk, have the phone in your lap, or hold it against your ear with your shoulder. Drivers can make or receive calls by using speakerphone, bluetooth system in vehicle, smartwatch, or earpiece. They can also use earbuds but only can use 1 because they need to hear surrounding traffic and emergency vehicle sirens.

I’ve seen semi truck drivers doing this all the time it’s sickening.

I'm a truck driver in the UK and to be on the phone while driving any vehicle is outrageous and plain stupid. To even hold a phone is illegal and will get any driver 6 points and a £300 fine ....

Take away their license. Forever.

Our company has drive cam. If it goes off randomly and you’re seen with any device in your hand including Bluetooth in your ear. You’re automatically FIRED. ZERO second chances.

As a trucker myself I can see down into a car when they get along beside me on the interstate & I would guess about 80% of the people driving cars are looking at their phones as well so it's not just the truck drivers that are looking at their phones.

driving a piece of equipment that can kill dozens, need to be harder on the laws protecting people.

Its simple....all phones are equipped with gps if phone is moving faster than walking speed it should automatically be disabled.End of problem.
