Reviewing all 2023 First Round Picks and their outlook for 2024 | PFF NFL Show

Guys there are starting offensive tackles playing right now that have 32 inch arms. The Falcons RT. The Colts RT. You don’t have to have long arms to play tackle. The Bengals backup LT Jackson Carman has 32 inch arms. Chris Hubbard the Offensive tackle from the 49ers this guy is 6’4’’ 295 has 30.75 inch arms and 9 inch hands. And he plays offensive tackle almost exclusively. So how do you explain that? A guy with sub 31 inch arms.

Yes I thought Tyree Wilson was a total zero too. He was not a top 10 draft pick. Not even close. And Myles Murphy was not drafted to start or even play much last year. He was 21 years old last year and he played around 270 snaps and had 20 tackles and 3 sacks. Look for a BIG jump this year from Murphy. Physically he shed all that baby fat that was on him last year and looks chiseled from stone.

Myles Murphy is a freak athlete. He is 6’5’’ 270 and ran 4.51 at his pro day and 4.53 at the combine. He is much more
Than a power player. Yes he can bull rush you but he is fast around the edge too and has good bend. He has active hands. He is modeling his game on Trey Hendrickson. Myles played less than 300 snaps had 20 tackles and 3 sacks.

The offense looked totally different without Stroud last year in both games in concussion protocol...so it really wasn't Slowik or the other guys as much as it was Stroud. Take Mahomes out of the KC offense and it will function...but not like that. Will Anderson is at 260 in minicamp. Looks noticably larger in the lower body.

Yes Myles Murphy is going to be way better this year. He and Joseph Ossai are going to break out this year. Expect a Bryce Huff type of year from Ossai if he can stay on the field. Murphy looks amazing this year. All that baby fat is gone and he is rocked up big time and he and Ossai are both putting in extra work. Those 2 guys are the future starting DE’s for the Bengals.

Myles Murphy should have been taken in the top 10 by the Raiders not Tyree Wilson. And yes Murphy is faster and more explosive than any edge rusher in that class. Including Wil Anderson. Anderson is 6’4’’ 243 and ran 4.60 and a 1.61 10 yard split. Anderson just ran he didn’t do any other tests. Murphy is 6’5’’ 275 lbs ran 4.51 and a 1.59 10 yard split. Both guys have 34 inch arms. Every single edge rusher the Bengals have had in the Taylor era weighed at least 260 lbs. we like bigger edges in Cincinnati.

Myles Murphy is leaning to rush from Trey Hendrickson who is a top 5 edge rusher. Ossai is learning from him too. When you watch Trey rush his hands are extremely active and he knows how to use them. All Murphy needed was some
Polish. He is already good
Against the run. He is a really big guy. All Ossai needed was to stay healthy 1 whole year. This is the year for Ossai. You want to talk about explosive? Ossai is a 6’4’’ 258 lbs DE and has a 41.5 inch vertical and an 11 foot broad jump. Boya Mafe is the only other edge with explosion numbers anywhere near Ossais.

You want to see how good Myles Murphy is going to be? Watch the Bengals vs Vikings last year. Murphy beats Christian Darrisaw, one of the best OTs in the league, multiple times. Beat him for a sack with a swipe move and got about 6 pressures against him too.

Nolan Smith looks small because he is small. At least for an edge rusher he is. He is 6’2’’ 238 lbs. He is classified as an OLB which is an edge rusher for most teams. But the Eagles had Hassan Reddick and he is only 6’2’’ 240 so you can be an edge rusher at that size but so far Reddick has been the exception rather than the rule.

Young will never will 10+ game or pass over 4000 yards lol dudes a bum

Colts fan here, I've seen JUST ABOUT enough of AR- he's injury prone. I'll give him one more season but his medicals look like a nightmare!! You didn't see him much cuz he was injured, the NFL is a tougher, meaner league- i don't see him getting a second contract if his injury woes continue.

Calijah Kancey flashed greatness last year. I think he takes the next step this season with about 8 sacks 15 tfl.

Did you guys watch Darnell Wright vs Maxx Crosby? He held his own minus a couple reps, but Wright couldn’t lift his left arm the entire game. It was one of his best performances imo

Absolutely loved this episode! Many of us in Strat-O-Matic FB leagues are preparing for our draft this fall. This is a board game (and also available to play on-line. We play our seasons one year behind (as we await the new cards released based upon the previous year). Any chance of devoting an episode or two to a team by team breakdown of the 2023 draft?

These guys should run for office. Complete politicians who constantly contradict themselves and have zero accountability. They’re just extremely lucky that there is a shortage of shows like this so there isn’t much else entertainment like this to watch so they get a default captive audience.

The Bijan convo really shows me what everyone in the comments are talking about. Bijan didn’t have the chance to be a top player. So saying he underperformed makes no sense. If the conversation is give him more touches… then we shouldn’t be saying anything negative about his productivity. Every play he was in was pretty much a highlight. Everyone in the NFL loved him. So saying we saw flashes is wild! He is clearly a unicorn.

Hope they make this a series and review every pick from every rd starting with rd 2 in the next video
