I was only 22 when Tidal came out.
I remember that I bought it at Tower Records in Boston and from that day 26 years ago, Fiona became my favorite artist until today

I think I had caught the world premier of the video for "Criminal". I bought Tidal on the strength of that one song and wound up loving the entire album. In any case, I alway's find it interesting how artists come up with their ideas.

I've dabbled on guitar off and on for 20 years and piano for about 5. Not great at either but have learned enough that I have written rough demos for me personally on both. I've found that the best titles seem to pop in my head out of nowhere.

Tidal is one of those albums that I bought for the single, and soon discovered to my delight that it was full of absolute gems.

Was so bummed out when the interview got cut, wanted to see the rest of it. Tidal has become that album that I never get bored of, it is oh so “slow like honey and heavy with mood”! Thank you Fiona for the Tidal name explanation 🖤

I think I got Tidal in 1997, when I was 13. To this day, I don't think I've listened to any single album more than I listened to that one. I had it memorized, word for word. It was instrumental to my gaining a deep appreciation of music, and it really holds a special place with me.

That interviewer did a pretty good job. He was just calm and supportive and let the star - Fiona - be the star.

She's clearly wise as hell already but you can tell how young she really is at points, this isn't a dig it's just insane how young she was already writing such mature songs that stood the test of time. When Sarah McLachlan was mentioned and the childlike adoration that popped out for her with "Sarah's so cool 😍" was adorable

I am officially dense - not getting the tidal title thing. I love that Fiona has been Fiona all along. She wasn't shaped and moulded by the industry, she just calls it like she sees it, and she sees a lot.
