I have and love the EP Booster, but that Greer Sure Shot sounded spectacular and very useful. Got one ordered. Thanks, Captain and Pete!
ОтветитьThere are two dip shitches inside the ep. One of them dealing with the bottom issues.
ОтветитьDanish Pete rocks
ОтветитьI wish the thorpy heavy water was here too
ОтветитьThis is exactly the video that I wanted.
ОтветитьBenson IS killer, BUT ALL ya gotta do ta get more hi end outa the EP is open it up n hit one of the THREE DIP switches, does the Benson have that option?
ОтветитьOffff the benson germanium boost epic fail when you first turned it on! EP booster much beefier !
ОтветитьGreat episode I’ll take the Benson and the Greer
ОтветитьNice to see the comparison. The EP is my oldest pedal by far. It works with everything and adds a quality that I can’t replicate with eq changes. Everything after it in my chain sounds better.
ОтветитьGreat video!
Thanks!
Would have liked to have saw how the Emerson EM Drive pedal, (two knob) compared with these other pedals?
The EP boost is great for Strats for a pushed clean sound. I use it to balance the sound of my humbucker guitar.
Ответитьcurious where you guys like to place your boost pedal... first in chain?after compressor and drives/before modulation and reverb or at the end of of everything (after comp, drives, mods, delays and reverb)?
i used a multi fx box, so to place a boost like this after drive, but before modulation would require me to use the fx loop..
Benson wins.
The Xotic sounds mid-scooped and tinny, the High Headroom sounds weak until it sounds like a fuzz and the Sure Shot, although great sounding, is basically an overdrive.
For those who cannot find the volume knob on their amps and guitars. Try the Bogner Harlow, that makes a lot more than just a little louder.
ОтветитьLot of fun with you guys.
ОтветитьSurely, using the Benson, Pete would have instantly known use… vocalist warbling drop volume but keep tone pedal? 👀🤣
ОтветитьWhat of this ‘Cinch EP+’ I here tell of? Or simply buy Dunlop EP preamp pedal?
ОтветитьFor the lonest time I thought these two men were the same person. Much to think about.
ОтветитьThe Benson for the win, in my opinion. Just sounded more hi-fi and clear, even when getting dirtier tones. I bought one used yesterday (based on another video I saw)... I look forward to adding it!
ОтветитьEP BOOST💯
ОтветитьThe amp without a boost ( a sneaker ) and with ( a$200 Italian loafer )+ that daney guy well golden stormtrooper boots 🪖👑😜😎
ОтветитьQUESTION: I'm doubting between the benson germanium boost & the milkman. Which one provides more volume boost? is it a big difference?
ОтветитьWell I’m getting the pop top. It’s decided.
ОтветитьCould you guys do a video on overdrive pedal from EXGEAR SOUL 5 please!!!????
ОтветитьIt honestly depends on what you want it to do... EP Boost is an always on fatten/color pedal. I've never really liked it for just boosting my sound for like a lead or something. For that I use GE-7 slight bump at 800hz and gain for my main board. And Spark mini for travel board.
ОтветитьSpark, vertex, benson,ep,katana mini, I can't make up my mind
ОтветитьHigh Headroom and EP are wondeful boost
ОтветитьSo the Benson pre-12 O'clock quietens down, and post-12 O'clock boosts - If so it's and Interesting function. But I think I got the right one when I plummeted for the Xotic EP Je ne regrette rien
ОтветитьThat Greer sounds CREAMY.
ОтветитьEP has been on my board for years now. It just adds a warmth and a sparkle to my tube amp, especially as more often than not I'm playing at bedroom volumes.
ОтветитьXotic all day with internal dip options
ОтветитьI liked the EP and the Benson the most. TC Electronic's Spark is visually grating to me and my board but I've always thought about getting one because their internal buffer is the ideal amount and having a Spark at the beginning and Polytune at the end of your chain would solve any buffer issues.
ОтветитьWish they included the Dunlop Echoplex preamp, which is basically a boost I think.
ОтветитьA booster that sucks out tone 🤣🤣🤣 Next up in benson electronics: A distortion pedal that cleans up your tone
ОтветитьThis was fun.
ОтветитьBenson boost takes away below 5
ОтветитьCan you guys get a hold of a Swart atomic boost and do a video please?
ОтветитьI wish all this silly wrestling with the guitar neck would go away.
My favorite clean boost is the J Rockett Archer.
That’s a great comparison, well done , greetings from Thailand
ОтветитьMy favorite guitar player uses 3 ep boosts for gain staging. It's incredible.
ОтветитьAnderson Shirley Johnson Ronald Robinson Mark
ОтветитьI'm getting an EP booster to fatten up my boss katana.
ОтветитьEP and the sure shot for me!
ОтветитьWhy not just turn your amp up?
Because I’ve got a boost pedal.
I live in Portland. you said Oregon correctly.
ОтветитьThey should do a boost called Germanium Jackson.
ОтветитьNo
ОтветитьI felt that the EP had the Best tone overall. It seemed to be wider and airier than the other three. Plus they said with the xotic EP, it can be powered with higher value power supplies that will increase the headroom as you go along. From 9 volts, 12 15 18 volts... I think I'm going to stick with my EP.
Plus, last night I just ordered the Chase tone secret preamp ep3, which may be an even better. Better more faithful echoplex preamp version than everything shown here, earning the main always on title. Which would make the xotic EP the boost. Or maybe I just need to create a whole second pedal board so that I could divide the two (laughs in mad scientist mode)
Why? Why? Why?
Why do people daisy chain pedals all the time in demos like this?
Are all the pedals buffered output? True bypass? A mix of each?
Daisy chaining pedals like this will affect the sound of every other pedal. Totally worthless as a demo.
