How To Do Focus Stacking in Photoshop

Great video. Although I think it's possible to do focus stacking manually but that would probably take more time than its worth.

You have to turn off face and eye detection on EOS R, or the camera will lock onto an eye in the scene.

BUT WAIT?! Are we actually, really, done where you left us? Don't we have to "Flatten Image" or "Merge Layers" to complete the process???

I'm taking a photo of a ring laying down, at most its 1" in depth, how many shots do I need to stack?

Another technique would be to buy an Olympus OMD Em1 Mk3 & 60mm macro and let it do it all for you in camera. Most other OM-D cameras can do this too.

Hi, after you have done in PS all for the photo stacking process and blend the images, how do you end up with the final 1 single image?

Super tutorial - just tested on my old PC- There is a lot of processing - it takes 10+ minutes just to align 20 images taken with my Sony A7R2

How do you change focus without moving the camera?

I don't know why when I used this method exacly how you described, my photos always messed up. First of all it align wrong. Secondly I don't know why It is not just masking but also corrupting the image so modifying the mask don't work. So in the end, the thing that you said "you can not not do this on your own", I always do this on my own :(

Followed these instructions to the letter with 10 images. It refuses to stack. I have no gaps in sharpness but I'm trying with raw files straight out of the camera.

Photoshop does a terrible job at auto stacking. Well, maybe not terrible, but definitely not perfect. I always have a few spots that need manual correction, which I find to do easier if I just make the masks myself instead of trying to find Photoshop's mistakes.

why didnt you just export as layers to photoshop from lightroom?
