Completed Calgary Green Line to cost $20 billion: Alberta Premier

We need this line, the road congestion is awful downtown. However if the province isn’t willing to take on the risk of THEIR plan then I think it is too risky and would put the city in a bad position when costs inevitably ballon and the province threatens funding again

20 billions in other countries can maybe build a complete underground metro system or even hundred of thousands KM of high speed rail in China, Korea, middle east or even in Japan.

In France they do the same project for one tenth the price and in half the time. Are we Canadians just inept? Are we stuck with large highways and sprawling suburbs forever?
